Never Again! - 1998 GMC Jimmy
By Aaron Watson - September 9 - 2:00 amIts five years old and I have had it for almost three years. Almost $5000 have been spent in repairs and only $1200 of that was paid by the dealer (Since I have had it). Bad climate control (took 30 days to fix), major transmission work, new front end suspension, complete brake replacement with rotors, two alternators, and two wiper motors. Not to mention the general repairs and upkeep that comes along with any vehicle. No more domestics for me!

A workhorse that keeps on pushing! - 1994 GMC Jimmy
By Dan Arturi - August 31 - 2:00 amThe Jimmy I have has 121800 miles on it, and still is extremely reliable. It starts right up and gets me where I need to go. It is not the most fuel efficient vehicle ever, but it does get about 17mpg average overall. As an outside sales rep, I am on the L. A. freeways constantly, and the truck puts up with all kinds of heat and start/stop conditions gracefully. It still has plenty of power when I need it.

2000 GMC Jimmy SLE - 2000 GMC Jimmy
By Ed753 - August 17 - 2:00 amNo problems with the vehicle except for a warped oil pan, that seeped oil, after 3 attempts the delaer replaced the oil pan, and problem was gone. Keyless entry only has 20 feet range tops, my GMC pickup has range of about 150 feet.

Stay away, Stay away - 1996 GMC Jimmy
By Lisa22 - July 25 - 2:00 amBought new and the doors were too short for the frame. Two days after purchase the transmission went out. The dealership would not take the car back. Since then, all mechanical parts have been replaced at least once. Service engine light is always on. Therefore, it lets you know the engine is running.

Very dependable truck - 1998 GMC Jimmy
By DWN - July 24 - 2:00 amI have owned this truck now for 5 years. I am the 1st owner. This truck has been absolutly flawless. The ownly thing that has been replaced is the altenator. It has been to the dealer for only the altenator and routine maintanence.

What is it this time - 1999 GMC Jimmy
By Casinodario - June 19 - 2:00 amMajor problem with this SUV is WHEEL BEARINGS and they are not cheap. It is not normal that I had to replace BEARINGS after such a short time. Another thing that did not impress me was the front seats, both reclyner mechanism broke off at the handel and they are made with real cheap metal and the cost to replace it $90.00 each. Called GMC and they said it happens alot but will not replace the part. Can not recline the seat anymore

Great 4X4 - 1994 GMC Jimmy
By USMC03 - June 9 - 2:00 amThis is absolutely the best car I have ever driven. The Vortec engine pulls like a champion and gives me all the power I need for towing heavy loads or off-roading. The only problem Ive had with this car is the infamous EGR Valve, I suspect that is why I got the car so cheap. Though the dash is not quite as aesthetically pleasing as the later models, it is still very nice and all of the controls are fairly intuitively placed. The Leather is of a quality that you would expect in a much more expensive car. Handling on the street is very good however this car really shines off-road. Overall this is a great car and has been extremely reliable.
