This Year's Model Updates:

For 2003, Envoy buyers are able to order certain options individually, rather than as part of an equipment package, adding potential savings and increased flexibility. The sport-ute's already powerful Vortec 4.2-liter inline six also gets a slight bump in horsepower, up from 270 to 275, and Envoys now boast a new four-position headlamp switch that permits drivers to turn off the vehicle's daytime running lamps and automatic headlamps when necessary. Additionally, the Envoy gets a larger fuel tank that holds 22 gallons. Previously standard side airbags are now optional, while autodimming side mirrors and the rear seat overhead compartment have been deleted.

Pros:
  • Plenty of cool options, strong six-cylinder power, attractive interior design.
Cons:
  • Numb steering, plasticky interior pieces, feels tippy in the twisties.

I like the big feel I had a Lexus RX300 I had to get use to the truck verses car frame but now I like it better than the Lexus I still dont know about the mileage yet it is still so new I got alot of stuff but opted for cloth seats I really think they are more comfy than leather, leather is so hot in Texas. I love the stainless trim on the interior its different.I got a really good deal.

This 2003 Envoy is the first new SUV I have owned or had experience with which had no defects which required a return trip to the dealer for a warranty repair - great quality!

  • GOOD RIDE SLT - 2003 GMC Envoy

Looked at several SUVs and wagons, Passat, Outback, Trailblazer, VolvoXC, Pathfinder and others. Envoy stood out from the rest in every respect. It has been a great vehicle and a eyecatcher. Pewter out and in. Sound system one of the best I have ever heard (Bose) and it has plenty of power with a luxury interior. Before you buy, check it out or you might regret it.

I was into imports before I bought my Envoy. All I can say is that I LOVE IT. Nice smooth drive and very comfortable. The optional DVD is great for keeping my lil brother quiet on long trips. Very nice interior.

  • "Tippy" ??? That is crazy!!! - 2003 GMC Envoy
    By -

The Envoy is a very stable and safe feeling drive. At no moment have I ever felt it to be "Tippy". Perhaps who ever described it that way was referring to an older model like a 2000. If you are reading this, call Allen GMC in Laguna Niguel, CA for a test drive. Im sure you will agree with me.

  • Envoy Better take a ride - 2003 GMC Envoy

Just a marvelous ride...Everything works and it is truly a great SUV.

  • GMC has done it right with Envoy - 2003 GMC Envoy

Overall good value, comfortable, quiet, solid ride, excellent acceleration. We looked at Ford Explorer, Toyota 4Runner, and this was as good or better at a more reasonable price. The Toyota was presented as a better built vehicle, but it cost thousands more. However, we have really had no problems with over 24,000 miles driven on the Envoy. At 21,000 miles one wiper blade had to be replaced because it did not clear the windshield well enough after ice built up (cost apprx $10.).
