Overview & Reviews
For 2003, Envoy buyers are able to order certain options individually, rather than as part of an equipment package, adding potential savings and increased flexibility. The sport-ute's already powerful Vortec 4.2-liter inline six also gets a slight bump in horsepower, up from 270 to 275, and Envoys now boast a new four-position headlamp switch that permits drivers to turn off the vehicle's daytime running lamps and automatic headlamps when necessary. Additionally, the Envoy gets a larger fuel tank that holds 22 gallons. Previously standard side airbags are now optional, while autodimming side mirrors and the rear seat overhead compartment have been deleted.
- Plenty of cool options, strong six-cylinder power, attractive interior design.
- Numb steering, plasticky interior pieces, feels tippy in the twisties.

Vehicle Ownership - 2003 GMC Envoy
By SteveD - July 30 - 9:48 pmI really like my 2003 GMC Envoy. It has a good ride especially with the 17" Michelin tires. I can get sometimes between 22-23 MPG highway driving. Combined city and highway is about 16 MPG. No problems so far with this SUV.

2003 GMC Envoy - 2003 GMC Envoy
By Patricia - April 28 - 9:12 pmI bought this truck new in 2004. It is roomy and comfortable in the front, as well as the rear. Heating and cooling are excellent, with a back vent in the console. 4WD makes it great in the snow. It has a lot of amenities for a truck!

My first GM - 2003 GMC Envoy
By WVU Fan - April 26 - 3:13 pmIve had the car for less than a year and Ive had to reset the computer once and replace the cooling fan (cost $560) Hopefully I wont see anymore problems for a while. Doubt if I ever buy another GM! The Ford I traded was old but it ran great and never had any work done to it!

Be Careful! - 2003 GMC Envoy
By jch - April 1 - 7:46 amThe seats on this car, while attractive, are very stiff and not comfortable on long trips. The biggest problem, however, has been the noise - sounds like there is a valve "tapping". Local dealers have claimed that they dont hear the noise and that nothing is wrong. I will be stuck at time to trade/unload! Stereo has been replaced a couple of times. There were 2 recalls from the factory. Seatbelts also stick!

Too many problems - 2003 GMC Envoy
By Loyal GM Owner? - August 27 - 2:00 amI was a loyal GM owner, but not sure any more. The truck has been into the dealer 8 times in 2 months for a mysterious electrical problem effecting lights and gauges. Ive had 3 computers and 4 electrical switches placed into the truck. Also, the entire truck has been re-ground 3 times and the rear window leak has been fixed twice. Problems still persist. Goods news is GM is buying the car back. I really like the style of the truck so Im thinking about giving GM another shot, but Im not sure.

NICE RIDE - 2003 GMC Envoy
By DGM - December 17 - 2:00 amThis was a very good purchase for me. Its not to big and not too small. I have been on many long distance trips and the ride has been great. It gets about 350 on the highway, which is pretty good in a SUV. I dont see to many Envoys on the road, and I like that. But its only a matter of time.
