Sure is nice to know that it does not get any better than this car. Great power, great quality, and a very fair price.

I purchased the car about two months ago, traded in my Mustang GT. I didnt test drive it prior to purchase and I will never make that mistake again. I have owned most popular sport cars in the last decade from a Z01 Corvette to a Porsche Boxster and everthing in between and this car has been the biggest disappointment. The nav quit working after a week. The shifter buzzes in neutral with the clutch out and the whole car shudders when you shift into first gear and the tranny is hot. Took to the dealership and they produced a factory notice saying this is "normal" on some lucky owners cars. Not worth the money. Sad it didnt live up to the legend. Wish I still had my Mustang GT.

Ive had this car about two weeks now, and have loved every minute of it. This car has what feels like unlimited power, and its still great to drive on a daily basis.

  • Needs more improving - 2008 Ford Shelby GT500

All I can say is that I feel sorry for those that paid over the sticker. I didnt, and I am glad. The power is there, but you better get used to the first gear shudder that the dealership will tell you is a "normal" thing. Yea, sure. Just like the rear end rusting out is, as they say, normal, and will not affect the integrity or performance. Listen, when you pay $50K for a vehicle, you just dont expect these kinds of things, and, to make it worse, the dealer telling you that it is normal. I should of went with the GT. My bad.

I waited for a year, I love it, I rated the reliability high so I hope it lives up to it. I used to own a Boss 302, they dont even compare, the Shelby is fast, and it feels great. The rear suspension could be better, it hops a little on rough roads. The six speed Tremec is smooth shifting, but the clutch is tough. It lets out just a little late for me, hopefully it can be adjusted. Great car, great look. Thank you Carroll, for another great American car.

I ordered mine in June and just received it last week. When I first saw this two years ago in New York I knew I had to have one. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. Can not fully explain feeling I had when I saw it for the very first time on the back of the car carrier that brought her to dealership. The acceleration that this car has is probably comparable to being on the space shuttle. It pushes you back into your seat and you remain there until you let up. I have yet to fully open her up. It drives so smooth, takes corners with precision, accelerates quickly and effortlessly. Driving it on smooth roads at 80mph feels like 40mph. Always wanted to own a Shelby, dream come true.

  • 2014 Shelby GT500 review from the average owner - 2014 Ford Shelby GT500

The 2014 reviews I have read always compare the Shelby GT500 to cars of different catagories. The comparisons to me are skewed and biased. The Shelby GT500 is just what the late Carroll Shelby wanted-The fastest and most powerful pony car on the planet. It should not be compared to all the high end sports cars that are double or triple the price. Paid reviews or biased opinions cant diminish the fact the Shelby GT500 has the most hp of any American production model vehicle ever and it is a blast to drive.

  • Skipping Rear End - 2007 Ford Shelby GT500

Everything is good with the handling except the solid rear axle causes the rear end to "skip" all over the place if there is the slightest imperfection in the road surface. With maximum acceleration in 1st gear it is always evident and gives the certain sense of loss of control. Rear suspenion certainly needs to be independent.

The car is awesome but demands respect, I traded in a 2012 GT. When you pulled out to pass a semi at 60 and nailed in the GT it just took off and went, nail the GT500 in 4th gear at 65-70 will bring the back end around quickly and you are starring at oncoming traffic!!! The car is fun but you must remeber there is a BIG difference between 400 and 700 hp. I have seen these cars on a dyno put out 616 hp at the rear wheels which equates to about 700 at the motor. Overall an iconic car, but it did make number 2 on the video "The top 10 cars that want to kill you"

  • Awesome Stang - 2011 Ford Shelby GT500

This is truly one great car, the build quality is as good as any car made to date. The interior is so cool, the lighting and gauge coloring is simply fantastic. You can sit in this car for hours in the garage and monkey around with it and have so much fun just doing that. The power is amazing. As soon as the car was broken in and the ECU let the car build boost, I hit the gas doing about 40 mph and I couldnt believe it, the car kicked out side ways but the traction control kicked in and saved my silly butt. I truly love this car. Best purchase I made in a long time.
