Ford Fanatic - 2008 Ford Shelby GT500
By Ford Fanatic - July 3 - 1:03 pmThis car costs too much for what I will see in my lifetime. Performance was disappointing on purchase, but it has started to show some potential as it breaks in. I only have 500 miles on it, I do plan to upgrade the performance in the future without sacrificing the ability to restore it to original, should some weak person choose to do so. This car is a blast to drive, buts needs a little more power to back up its image. (It does not like to be power shifted). My first car was a 63 Falcon convertible that I "Cobra-ized", and will be with me until I die. This GT-500 has the potential to be just as addictive as my first of my 14 Fords. After 45 years, I still get a smile on my face with Ford.

The Ride of your life - 2011 Ford Shelby GT500
By cmos - February 22 - 2:00 amThe sheer power of this car is quite evident once you get enough mileage to get boost from the supercharger. Just a punch of the pedal will have your head instantly pinned against your seat. It is both an angel when handled carefully, and it can be beast when you can handle all of its power, and want to see what it has to offer, I prefer this on the track. I have drag raced the vehicle and it quite fast, thanks to the SVPP (Performance Package) . Without the Speed Limiter, it surely is 180 MPH+ car; I have witnessed this first hand. I also highly recommend the Electronics Package, This makes it a complete package. If you cant handle people staring, then this car may not be for you.

Thundering horse - 2008 Ford Shelby GT500
By Stud Pony - January 15 - 4:50 pmLove driving it, wish I wasnt so worried about parking it, Idiots with grocery carts and such. My wifes afraid to drive it due to the power but, I cant get enough of it! Interior seems a little cheap looking for top of the line Mustang.

By Tim - December 24 - 12:10 amThe car is everything I thought it would be and more. I was surprised by the amount over invoice I had to pay. Horsepower, handling, 0-60 its all good. No remorse whatsoever about the car.

Days of Old - 2009 Ford Shelby GT500
By montanabob - November 23 - 6:26 amWhat a great car. Fun to drive and lots of power. Bought the 09 instead of the 2010 because I dont like the rearend of the 2010. Looks cheap. I also like the old style interior. I sold a 350Z roadster and bought the Shelby.

Worth Every Penny - 2009 Ford Shelby GT500
By Jerry - October 3 - 8:46 amCrank it up and that sweet V8 sound invites you to reach over and turn the radio off. I was shopping for a 67- 69 restored classic Mustang, but for equal (or less) money I found this Cobra GT500 and have absolutely no regrets. I traded a more expensive personal luxury car for this and have never looked back and do not expect to.

Bravo SVT! - 2010 Ford Shelby GT500
By DJTALLMO - July 25 - 10:00 amThis model is much better than the 2006-2009 models and so much better than the Mustangs of the 1980s era. Ford SVT finally put out an exemplary product that you can feel confident about. The GT500 is a performance level vehicle for under 50k with daily driver characteristics. Transmission, engine, suspension and interior build quality are equal the euro models. Many compliments by others-body lines, wheels, brakes, exhaust etc. My only suggestion would be to swap out the Goodyear rubber for a better product. Otherwise, an exemplary product and improvement over the past Shelby models.

GT500 07 - 2007 Ford Shelby GT500
By Hans - July 19 - 8:06 amI have owned this Shelby since Nov 06. I just love to drive it and hear the whine of the supercharger. I have a cold air kit and tune installed and it really woke up the performance of this car. Ive also had it on track in Sebring Florida drivers school. It was a blast to drive.I get 16 MPG in town and 21 HWY at eighty. Had some clutch issues that Ford fixed. So far this is the most fun car I have ever owned. There are plenty of aftermarket parts to dress up your pony car the way you like it. And if you want more power, add a different supercharger.

Thank You SVT - 2007 Ford Shelby GT500
By Steve - February 19 - 11:26 pmUpon hearing the hp rating and performance numbers I expected this car to ride slightly better than a go-kart. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the ride was and the "tameness" of 500 horses with normal driving.
