Overview & Reviews
The new model year brings a handful of changes for the Mustang. V6 models can now get the Pony Package, which includes an upgraded suspension with larger stabilizer bars, 17-inch wheels, ABS, traction control, foglamps and unique trim. The GT gains two additional wheel options, both 18 inches in size, complemented by unique suspension tuning. An additional darker aluminum interior trim upgrade package is now available.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a car with a solid-axle rear suspension can get, slick retro interior, good cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support, low-grade interior plastics.

Get an import - 2006 Ford Mustang
By never_again - August 7 - 6:03 amI bought this brand spanking new 06 Mustang GT Premium this past March. Initially, I was impressed with the power and acceleration of the 4.6L V8; however, there was much to be desired from the transmission as shifting became tedious and clunky, with a stiff clutch, in this 5-speed manual. Shifting was anything but smooth as you had to literally force the shifter into each gear with overwhelming effort. This became a nightmare in traffic and city driving. Do yourself a favor, if you want a true quick and nimble sports car with butter-smooth shifting, get yourself an import.

2006 Mustang GT - 2006 Ford Mustang
By GH - July 16 - 12:30 pmI love everything about the car, for the money it cant be beat, and Ive always been a Chevy guy! (3 Z/28s). The engine has a sweet note above 3000 rpm and pulls solid to 6000. The most surprising thing has been the great gas mileage, its much better than I expected. I think that there is tons of room for simple, effective performance gains and in a few years 400-500 HP S197s will be everywhere, Shelbys not withstanding,

FUN, FUN, FUN - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Teri - June 7 - 9:46 pmThis car is fantastic! I usually hate driving anywhere and now I am looking for excuses to drive. Everything about this car from the rumble of the engine to the way it hugs the road is enjoyable. What a way to recapture and hang on to your youth.

Great Car - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Alex - May 27 - 6:00 pmThis is the funnest car I have ever owned! The styling is incredible, the price right, and the fun factor off the charts. Sounds and feels like a V8, yet gets decent V6 fuel economy. The front driver and passenger areas are roomy and comfortable with lots of leg room.

Great First Impression - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Testy Driver - May 21 - 12:56 amIve had my Vista Blue Mustang GT Premium for about two weeks. The appearance and feel of the car are awesome, as is the acceleration. This is a car I plan to keep for a long time, as Ive waited a long time to get it. The car handles well, it seems eager to get into curves. So far, I love everything about it. The car came with the Shaker 1000 stereo, which may have been overkill for this 45 year old.

My New Toy! - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Richard - May 19 - 3:50 pmWith four children, a dog, and an SUV to haul us all, my wife and I needed a break from our chaotic daily routine. We decided to do something for ourselves, and bought our Redfire 2006 Mustang Coupe. Still, being the conservative middle aged parents we are, we opted for the V6, but dont let that fool you. The 210hp rear wheel sports car is like nothing I have ever seen. Not only can it run with the big dogs, it sounds the part as well. The design will take you back in time, but the performance is truly futuristic. I can honestly say, and my wife will back me up on this, this car truly brought a little FUN back into our lives. The hardest part now is getting her to let me drive.

J.R. & Ramonas Toy - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Jack & Ramonas Toy - May 12 - 12:46 amWeve owned our GT Premium Coupe now for about six weeks and have accumulated only about 500 miles so far as the roads here in Germany have been pretty slick due to the winter weather that is typical this time of the year. My wife and I have had plenty of fun on the weekends driving our "toy" around on the German Autobahn where speed limits are fairly uncommon and wide open throttle is "common". Well I can say that so far our 06 "Stang" has NOT let us down yet. Besides having to replace the fuel tank since the fuel nozzle cut off every milli-second at the 1/2 tank mark, we have had absolutely no problems so far. This car is truly a "best buy"; we highly recommend!

Giddy Up! - 2006 Ford Mustang
By brenda - May 2 - 2:30 amFun car to drive. Only difficult thing about the car is the seat belt. Other than that it has everything I need in a car. Beats my Mercedes.
