Overview & Reviews
The Freestar is an all-new minivan that replaces Ford's aged Windstar. Recognizing the increased competition in this segment, the company has incorporated must-haves like a fold-flat third-row seat, rear DVD entertainment system and a power liftgate, while adding new items like side curtain airbags that cover all three rows of seating and an available large-displacement V6 for hauling heavy loads.
- Plenty of safety and convenience features, sharp interior design, torquey V6 engines.
- Unimpressive fuel economy numbers, less horsepower than top competitors.

Surprisingly Happy with Purcahse - 2004 Ford Freestar
By sjb - May 24 - 10:06 amI traded in a SUV for the Freestar and was very surprised how much I liked the Freestar. It has great functionality (a lot of storrage for your stuff), easy access in/out for the children, and it has a smooth & comfortable ride (4.2L good power). Its interior looks great. I wish I would have bought this vehicle much earlier.

Freestar SES - 2004 Ford Freestar
By George E. - March 22 - 10:00 amNot a van person but I love the Freestar. I compared it to Honda and Toyota minivans and more bang for the buck. Test drove a SES with 16 inch wheels on the highway with wind gusts to 70 mph and very stable. Ordered the SES with 17 inch wheels and stability is even better. Love the room, safety features, acceleration, looks and the quiet ride.

Great Value - 2004 Ford Freestar
By DJ - March 16 - 10:33 amJust replaced my old Windstar and this van is terrific. It does everything better. It only has a couple thousand miles but I could not happier, the value was incredible. I got a loaded vehicle for about $22 K. So far I have not had any issues and would recommend this van.

Ford Freestar, great value, - 2004 Ford Freestar
By ben - March 6 - 4:57 pmIf youre looking for a van to buy and keep, not trade in a lot, buy the Freestar and buy an extended warranty. I have a 1998 Windstar and the Ford service centers are really number 1. When youre on the road and you need service or something happens, youre in good hands. The van is great.

First Time Ford Owner. - 2004 Ford Freestar
By The Five Farrells - February 20 - 5:19 amMain reason I wanted to purchase this was its stylish body look, and the feel I got when I was sitting behind the wheel.Totally feel at ease when the wife and kids are doing their thing (school, sports, errands, etc.). I am confident in their safety, and confident that the vehicle will perform as directed in the brochures we read. Ford did a quality job with the redesign because we are going to stay in the Ford Family of Freestar. Look for the five Farrells in 2006 when we will be ready to trade up to a newer version.I am impatient to wait...and confident you will continue to compete with the foreign vehicles on the market.

Love it! - 2004 Ford Freestar
By noribabe - October 9 - 2:00 amWe have driven Explorers in the past, but this is much better for us, as we are in our 70s and are looking for roominess and comfort now. It has great visability, and handles like a dream, and is so easy to get in and out of. tho we still feel as tho we have the height and safty of the Explorer, and tho it is not a 4x4, it is front wheel drive, and we grew up in the east, so the snow here in Flagstaff doesnt really hold any problem for us! It is nice for taking our family places also. I cant say enough good things about it, and also the dealership. They were and are great!
