  • Lacking in a couple areas - 2012 Ford Focus
    By -

I bought my 2012 Focus on January 14th. The interior styling is nice. The car is responsive with the sport suspension package. The gas and brake pedals are a little too close together. This car is no speed demon in any sense of the word but it does well. I am not getting the advertized gas mileage even though the eco system says I am a champion. The car des seem to stumble a bit when parking in close areas. Dont plan on carrying passengers in the back seat unless you have short legs and can move the seats up. Average people forget about it.

  • Tranny Shakes, bad cusomer service - 2012 Ford Focus
    By -

After buying the new focus 6 speed automatic hatchback with the extended warentee, I noticed that there is a tranny shudder at low speeds. I took it to the dealer and was told it was a "automatic clutch break in " problem, bring it back at 1000 miles. Brought it back, and was told let wait for 3000 miles. I called customer service and was told I will have to pay for a "transmission evaluation" and there was noting they could do about this. Shame on Ford for allowing this to happen. I thought buying an American made car was the only way to go, But... Im re thinking this, also the salesman insisted the car had cruise, and it did not. ( i feel stupid) Shame on me for not inspecting the car.

  • Fun drive at a fair price - 2012 Ford Focus

I love its look, handling, and lux interior. The My Ford Touch, when it works, is very good. The upcoming software update should make it great. I will admit that it lacks horsepower. Im still getting used to losing 90hp from my previous car, but the Focus accelerates okay - just not heart pounding. It makes up for it by having great handling. This car came loaded with oodles of options and features and still came in at the low 20s. Could easily spend several thousands more.

  • Red Focus - 2012 Ford Focus

Just picked up my Race Red Focus three weeks ago.Love the colour, satellite radio and stereo. I bought the sedan over the hatch as it seemed to have less wind-noise and looked sportier to me. Car has been very good to this point, good pickup, great gas millage and still a head turner unlike Focus of previous years. This is my third Focus from wagon to mid-life crisis! Still has some wind-noise and rattles as is befitting the Ford tradition.

  • Focus Hatch 5 speed manual - 2012 Ford Focus
    By -

Ive had the car for a month; it replaced a 2007 Mazda3 and I also previously owned a 2007 Focus. This car is worlds apart from the 2007 Focus. The shifting is buttery smooth; good power, good fuel economy (averaged 36 mpg on recent 800 mile road trip). The car feels "stiff" and this is a good thing; it holds corners amazingly well, very little sway. This actually takes a little getting used to if you havent driven a car that handles as well. Its very quiet, much quieter than the Mazda3. The drivers cockpit feels like it wraps around you. A very well thought out, good performing vehicle, especially for the price point!

  • Bought Brand New no problems except for recall - 2012 Ford Focus
    By -

I bought this car in 2012 brand new. SE Sports & Winter Package. Great, reliable car. Only problem has been the transmission recall that my local dealership took care of (even though it took 3 visits). Has never stalled on me and starts great every time.

  • 2012 Focus SEL - 2012 Ford Focus
    By -

I have almost 3,000 miles on my 12 Focus SEL purchased 03/31/12. Two areas that concerned me at time of purchase have been addressed by FoMoCo. I have upgraded MyFordTouch and the system is faster, has not crashed, and integrates well with my IPhone 4s. Ive also had the transmission recalibrated under the recent service program. The drive is now smoother, lugs less at low speeds, does not lurch at low speeds, and downshifts quicker. I have no complaints about the recalibrated transmission only that this is how it should have been from the beginning. I am not getting the advertised MPGs but mileage has been improving with break in. Overall, its a great small car.

  • No transmission issues for me. - 2012 Ford Focus
    By -

After 3 months and 2000 miles driving mine, I think they fixed the transmission issues on the Auto,Manual with some kind of recall/patch. Mine is smooth, quiet, only issue is very slight delays backing out and starting from stop, but not so bad to be annoying. Have yet to have a problem with the car. Started off getting about 34 MPG but now closer to 30. Think its my mix of driving, summer gas, and non-stop a/c on now.

  • Good reliable car - 2012 Ford Focus

Overall a good car for past 4 years. Disappointed in the resale value.

  • 2012 Focus I regret buying!! - 2012 Ford Focus
    By -

Ive had my Focus for about 5 months now and while the car looks awesome, I cant really recommend it to anyone. After 5 weeks of owning it, the sun roof exploded on my while I was driving down the interstate. It then sat at the dealer for 5 weeks waiting for a new sun roof. The shifting is horrible and unpredictable and is usually in third gear before you hit 15mph. The MyFord Touch is awesome, when its not locked up. I had to do a battery disconnect at one point because it was locked up and now my gas mileage sucks. I was getting over 40mpg before that on the hwy but now am getting about 33mpgs. HUGE difference. Looks arent everything, but you find out the hard way...
