Overview & Reviews
Minor changes are in store for the 2003 Ford Focus. Two new trim levels increase the breadth of prices for Ford's economy car; a base trim for the three door hatchback renders air conditioning optional and only comes with a manual transmission. For the five door hatchback, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, front reading lights and a center console are available when you step up to the comfort trim level from the base level. Heated front seats are a new option, as is a traction control and ABS package. New colors for the exterior brighten up the color palette, and the interior is freshened with two new fabric trims. Finally, a CD/MP3 player is now standard on the ZX3 and ZX5. A SVT version of the ZX5 is also scheduled to appear later in the year.
- Thoughtful ergonomics, large interior, smooth ride, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

Ford Focus ZTS review - 2003 Ford Focus
By keith kramer - February 28 - 10:00 amFun to drive. Great driving position. Peppy enough, but a few more h.p. would be welcome. Feels like a bigger car. Excellent handling. Cant comment on reliability because I only have 5000 miles on the car. Wish there would be an entry to the trunk from inside because I often have my hitch based bike rack on the back. Good sound system. A really great car for under $18,000.

Getting Better / Like it more. - 2003 Ford Focus
By "L" - February 16 - 2:00 amIam back !!! Mileage has improved somewhat. City mpg from a low of 20 (wife driving it)to 24 and 25-30 in the highway. I got a cool 30mpg this past weekend. I did the same trip as when it was new back in Nov 1st. I got 24.9 then. Did not use the AC this time (It was cold) 70-75 mph. Noise level on newly paved roads is more tolerable. Can carry a ton of stuff in the back with seats down. Love that RDS on my radio.I Hear 2004 has 19 more ponies? and better mileage ? Test drove the Toyota Prius, great car but I can put alot of gas in my Focus with the $8k+ difference in price.

Love this car - 2003 Ford Focus
By Smerich - February 2 - 10:00 amThe Focus is the perfect car for my family. Even with the moonroof there is more than enough headroom for everyone in the front or rear seats. I fit well in the passenger seat even with a car seat in the rear. Zetec engine is wonderful, and the ride is exceptional for a small car.

Best deal in towm - 2003 Ford Focus
By ayccya - January 21 - 2:00 amThe SVT is a screaming deal, especially if you could get it with the $2500 rebate. This is one very fun car. Superb handling, great accelaration, very comfortable ride for a performance car, decent gas mileage and very spacious interior (lots of headroom). All these make the SVT a great commute car. Ive driven Porsche, Audi, Saab, Mercedes and others and the Ford Focus SVT rank one of the highest in terms of fun to drive. The only complain I have is the over aggresive bad-boy styling. I prefer the European vesion RS or ST170 much better.

25K and not a problem yet! - 2003 Ford Focus
By ZX3me - January 21 - 2:00 amLove this car for commuting, so much fun to drive. Havent had a single problem or warranty repair ...yet, very reliable. In a pinch have had to fit my family of 5 in it...no problem, has a lot of room for a small car. Its just a blast to drive and i am consistantly averaging 30 MPG even when revving it off the line. Its been a great car plus I scored a 60mo Ford loan at 0% APR!

The V40 Killer!!!! Ya Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 2003 Ford Focus
By Wealth Guru - January 16 - 10:00 amDISCLAIMER: Last car was Volvo S-80 (3 yrs), Volvo 859 wagon bef that (3 yrs). Nice cars, loved them, but WAY overpriced (Note: Ford owns Volvo). Read Millionaire Next Door, then tested S40 Wagon, felt like a sardeen can at $25,000. Bot the Focus SE wagon, Infra- Red(18,190 list) from J Madden for $ 13,799 (500 under, and 3000 rebate). Roomier than S40, same rear end and plenty of power. Handles great, quiet on the highway, well built, not as many frills, but who cares. Its 1/2 the S40 price. Loving It!!(Wanted a Cooper S, but have private school tuition ahead...:(
