This Year's Model Updates:

Minor changes are in store for the 2003 Ford Focus. Two new trim levels increase the breadth of prices for Ford's economy car; a base trim for the three door hatchback renders air conditioning optional and only comes with a manual transmission. For the five door hatchback, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, front reading lights and a center console are available when you step up to the comfort trim level from the base level. Heated front seats are a new option, as is a traction control and ABS package. New colors for the exterior brighten up the color palette, and the interior is freshened with two new fabric trims. Finally, a CD/MP3 player is now standard on the ZX3 and ZX5. A SVT version of the ZX5 is also scheduled to appear later in the year.

Pros:
  • Thoughtful ergonomics, large interior, smooth ride, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

A great little car with a lot of pep. I owen a 2004 Mustang and I enjoy driving the focus just as much. Great stereo system. The focus has a smooth ride. With few exterior upgrades like I have done it really an eye-catching vehicle.

i got the focus 4mo ago to drive back and forth to work for the gas milage. since then i have gone to fla. in the focus and got 35mpg. i average about 33mpg going to work, I really enjoy driving this car, my wife has a crown vic, and would rather drive the focus, because it is easer to get in and out of tight spots and has a lot of power for a 4cyl.

Thanks, We have been Ford owner for lots of years, the proud owner of a Ford Focus. Our first Ford Focus was a 2001. But, in June 2003, we had a head-on car accident with the Focus. The car was a total lost. We only had seat belt and air bag damages. After the settement of the car, the value of the car was good, we got more out of the car than what we paid for it. Now, we got another 2003 Ford Focus. My car is a 2001 Ford Escort ZX2, but my next car will be a Ford Focus. I want to thank the "Lord" and "Ford" for the protecting of our lives. Thanks, Mable Moses 492 Odum Road Lumberton, NC 28360

  • It really is fun to drive - 2003 Ford Focus

Though ive only owned for a week i have been very impressed with a few things. Like many have said, this car corners like no other. Ive owned a 2000 Mustang and an a BMW. This thing beats them. The shifter is best. Just has a great feel and smooths the bumps. I hope the reliability and longevity are as good as the first impression.

  • SVT EUROPEAN PACKAGE - 2003 Ford Focus

Spend the extra $ on the Euro package, worth it for the Recaro leather seats, Argent Mutispoke Alloys, Xenon lights. Although pricy $3500 it only comes in 2 colors Competition Orange or Screaming Yellow. I bought the Yellow and let me tell you this car gets as much attention as Ferrari for 2 reasons 1 if you buy the euro package its rare enough you probably wont see more than 1 or 2 in your area, people are not sure what it is, I ordered a large roof spoiler (world rally car type) from europe just too ad to peoples confusion. Very quick car and amazing braking handles like a gokart, I paid $22k a little pricy maybe but the fun factor and perf. worth it

I have put 6100 miles on it in 3 months and have no problems to report. The car is very quiet comparded to its competition, and rides good for a small car. This is the best handling car I have ever driven, handles like an expensive sports car. Needs more power, especially when coupled to the automatic. Gas milage is a little disappointing, averaging 26 MPG for mostly highway driving.

  • Great Car - especially for the $ - 2003 Ford Focus

When I first bought this car I knew it was oriented to the performance side of the market, but I didnt realize how well sorted out the car was. It is a pleasure to drive on the highway on my daily communte and Ive taken 1st place on the autoX on the weekends. The power is excellent for its class and price and the 6 speed transmission makes it fun to run throught the gears. Handling is simply unbelievable - Ive out paced miatas, porches and other expensive and more powerful cars on the track. My car has been mechanically sound too. No real problems to report. I Highly recommend this car - especially as a used one can be had for very little $$$

  • Think Twice Before You Buy! - 2003 Ford Focus

As the webmaster for the MyFordFocusSucks website, my feelings on this car should be quite clear. Although initially fun to drive, the repair nightmares and shoddy build quality have changed my mind forever about Ford. As the owner of five other Ford/Mercury products in the last four years alone, they have lost a significant amount of future business!
