The emissions-friendly 2.3-liter PZEV engine released in limited states in 2003 is now available as an option in all states (it comes standard in California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Maine). The only other notable changes to the 2004 Ford Focus are newly optional leather seating for ZX3 models, and a slightly revised suspension offers improved handling.

  I currently own 3 Focuss- 2 that are 2003 and 1 that is 2002. We just bought a 2003 for my daughters birthday. I also owned 2 2001s which were traded in the newer cars when leases were up. It is a fun car to drive and I have had no major problems with any of my 3 cars. Its a fun car to drive, reliable and sporty looking. I have a bad back and find the seats very comfortable.

  I just bought my focus this week and the fun of my life begins.The 2.3 liter engine is so powerful, considering the price! ( i got mine for $12T+) thanks with the help of tyrone and regie! I LOVE THIS CARE! IT WILL LAST FOR ME!

  My svt focus is a treat to drive.It fares well in the handling/cornering department.Brakes seem to have little fade during normal use.Power could be better with more torque,but it is plenty powerful for the street.Interior amenities are good with nice side bolstering on seats for hard cornering.Radio/cd player are decent in sound quality as are the speakers and sub.The wheel and tire package sports a great look with performance to match.All in all, this is a cool ride to run around in.

  I recently traded in my 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 in for a 4-door Focus SE sedan. This car has plenty of room for up to 5 people. I love how you sit high in it with a clear view of the road in front. Love the sunroof and the in-dash 6-disc cd player..they are awesome. The 2.0-liter Zetec engine is peppy with the 5-speed manual, but still lacks the smoothness and precision of some of those import cars, but road noise is very minimal. This car handles great..seats lack back support. The brakes are dissapointing in this car..reminds me of the escort again. Overall, a great car for the money/value.

  It gets great gas milage and it is fun to drive. It could use a little more power. But who wants a speeding ticket?

  I love my car! I had a 2001 Ford Mustang and the lease was due in early June 2004. I decided to turn in my mustang and get a Focus. I was worried about the power of the focus (especially after coming from a 6 cyl mustang). But to my surprise this little 2.3L engine puts out decent power for its size! It acutally feels a little more responsive on the low end than my mustang. The only time I notice the difference between the 2 cars is when I floor it on the highway. And even still the focus does a good job at getting up to speed. Its spacious, Economical, good looking, comfortable, and just feels right!

  I must say this is a great car. The Ford Focus is a very reliable car. It runs so smooth even on the bumpiest roads. The comfort level of this car is unbelievable!
