Overview & Reviews
The new model year ushers in some significant changes for the 2005 Ford Focus. Exteriors have been updated with revised fascias and trim, and the car's oddball interior design has been replaced by more sedate and sophisticated furnishings. Last year's diverse engine lineup has been scrapped in favor of an all-new PZEV-rated 2.0-liter power plant good for 136 horsepower. A performance-oriented ST sedan has been added to take the place of the discontinued SVT Focus hatchbacks; it features a 151-hp incarnation of last year's excellent 2.3-liter PZEV engine. The 2.3-liter loses its squeaky-clean PZEV rating, however. In other news, the typically confusing array of trim levels and packages has been organized into logical and consistent trim lines, standardized across all body styles. New audio systems, increased interior storage and tweaked suspension tuning round out this year's midcycle makeover.
- Spacious and comfortable interior, fun-to-drive character, sharp steering, smooth ride, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

First time ford - 2005 Ford Focus
By rjvt006 - November 19 - 11:40 amI love this little car. I drive alot for work and I needed something that was easiy on gas but could hold its own in fast moving traffic. I had never owned a ford before.(actually Im the first one in my entire family to buy one) So I was a little nervous when I bought this car. But I would recommend this car to anyone.

Great car, dont complain about MPG. - 2005 Ford Focus
By Socktown - November 18 - 7:10 amSomeone complained about getting 26 mpg in the ST? The window sticker on mine clearly stated 21city/32highway. Its a high torque, short geared engine. Its not going to sip gas. Please dont criticize a machine for doing EXACTLY what it said it would do at the time of purchase. Now, I traded a Mustang GT Convertible for this. New baby and all that. I couldnt be happier. Acceptable gas mileage (I also get around 26), great fun to drive quotient and excellent room.

Excellent, best car I ever had or drove - 2005 Ford Focus
By Laurie, Surprise - October 24 - 11:40 pmMy Focus drives like a dream come true. I dont have to worry about whether my kids are safe in it, because of all the safety features that have been implemented. It was very easy to get the car seat in, and I love the fact that it is soo efficient on the gasoline that it wont land me in the poor house either. I would not let anyone talk me into selling it. This is the best car buy I ever made. It is also the best car I drove.

Cant beat it - 2005 Ford Focus
By oopy493 - October 12 - 2:00 amIf you want high gas mileage, lots of space, decent quality and a reasonable price, theres nothing like a focus wagon. Fully decked out its selling for under $19K TMV. Materials are really nice and it rides well. The four cylinder has pep, gets a bit noisy if you push it. Everything inside feels comfy and theres tons of space.

Just Bought One - 2005 Ford Focus
By mrslgoza - September 25 - 3:20 pmI just bought my Focus about 2 days ago, and I have put a little over 150 miles on it. Ive been impressed with the way it drives. I have always owned a car with a manual transmission, but this little car has been a new experience for me. It has a lot of power, and there is no change in power even when my whole family is in there, nor when I turn on the air conditioning. Neither has made the engine stall what so ever. I drive about 80 miles a day and I feel this car is going to be the best with fuel efficiency, it has been so far. I am proud of the 100k mile warranty on the engine. It made it so much easier making my decision for purchase. I am very pleased so far.

New Focus - 2005 Ford Focus
By STACY - September 21 - 7:10 pmCar is new for us but we love how quiet the motor is and smooth the ride is. With the spoiler and bigger rims, some people ask what model it is; they did not know it was a Focus.
