The emissions-friendly 2.3-liter PZEV engine released in limited states in 2003 is now available as an option in all states (it comes standard in California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Maine). The only other notable changes to the 2004 Ford Focus are newly optional leather seating for ZX3 models, and a slightly revised suspension offers improved handling.

By Erinsmuma - May 1 - 2:00 amI really like this car. It is comfortable for me to drive. The one thing that I thought was pretty chintzy is the lack of cross bars on the roof luggage carrier. This makes it a totally useless piece of plastic on the roof.

By LEEZ - April 27 - 10:00 amOverall very happy, but the clock is the pitts! What was Ford thinking! Mileage is still a disappointment, 21- 22 in city, and I traded a 6 cylinder for this 4, but it is peppy. Love the space inside. Saw other complaints of no crossbars on roof rack, mine came with them and I want them off! Too hard to wash the roof and I will never use them.

Great Car - 2004 Ford Focus
By focuspro - March 19 - 2:00 am18 months with vehicle and very happy (ZTS wMach Audio package). Great price and performance, handles great, good fuel economy. Looks good too. Comfortable interior. Hands 2 adults and 3 kids in back just fine. Used for commuting, but 300 mile trip got 38mpg ans was very comfortable. 6-disk changer had to be replaced. Paint wore off on shifter knob top.

By ZX3yvr - March 19 - 2:00 amA blast to drive, but build quality a bit suspect in places, totally reliable. Fuel economy is atrocious, I average about 16mpg per US gallon around town and about 25mpg on the highway. My friend drives a Saab 900 turbo with 45 more bhp and manages about 22mpg around town, what gives Ford???!!!

Fun , but be ready to spend money repair - 2004 Ford Focus
By Nip - March 14 - 10:00 amI loved my Focus the first year, great handling. After that, I started having problems with the engine. They told me I was using the wrong gas (premium is bad, regular is good), and need to clean it up, my fault so no warranty and they charge me around $550...4 months later, problems with the brakes, pay $500. 1 year later, I problems with brakes again and some with engine injection. The injection, I suspect was the same old problem, but now it was a re-call (It has like 7 recalls since I bought it) the brakes cost me another $650 bucks. Know I am selling it, and believe me I not getting another Ford, much less a Focus.

By cibao - December 24 - 2:00 amI love this car!! Theres really nothig bad I can say about it. This car handles and brakes better than anything else I have driven and has a ton of room. I was able to fit 5 people no problem. I recommend this vehicle to anyone. If youre worried about the snow and rain as I was, then get the traction control feature and youre all set. The only thing bad I can say is that it needs a bit more low end torque, but wants you reach the 5000 RPM mark, youre flying!

By MizLiz - November 5 - 2:00 amI just bought my second Focus, and I probably will never consider another make of car. Just getting in and out of it is effortless; no small thing for an old lady. Its just the right height, rather like sitting in a regular chair....instead of sitting way down close to the ground. I commute 80 miles per day on the freeway, so this car is perfect...it has great response time, and can accelerate very quickly if needed. It is also extremely maneuverable and easy to park.
