Overview & Reviews
The emissions-friendly 2.3-liter PZEV engine released in limited states in 2003 is now available as an option in all states (it comes standard in California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Maine). The only other notable changes to the 2004 Ford Focus are newly optional leather seating for ZX3 models, and a slightly revised suspension offers improved handling.
- Thoughtful ergonomics, spacious interior, fun-to-drive character, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

Litter - 2004 Ford Focus
By Patricia Goforth - December 1 - 2:00 amI would like to see something put into the vehicle to accommodate a litter bag. I have hung one on the door handle on the front passenger side of the vehicle. This is not easy to use when driving. We have purchase a new Ford F250 which has a small hook in the center of the dash. Very nice and convenience. I also find it VERY hard to read the clock.

Nice little car - 2004 Ford Focus
By PaulLee - November 25 - 10:00 amThe feel of driving this car is better than the two Civics (1987 and 1996) I had. Cute little designs and color in the interior. Exterior is a little bit disappointing. Road noise is somewhat loud. I drove it for 3 months so far. I dont know if its reliable. The door locks inside are not very easy to operate.

By zzoom1 - September 13 - 2:00 amthis car is too much fun, its 0-60 times are ok, but its the total package of handling, horsepower and interior ergonomics--try to find a better all round package for 20k!!

Very nice and fun car to drive - 2004 Ford Focus
By Brian Blum - September 6 - 2:00 amI really like this car better than the Civic and Corolla. The car is quiet and smooth. The 2.3 litre engine pulls nicely and is very quiet. The handling is very satisfing. The draw backs are the design for rear seat entry is confusing resulting in messing up the seat back angle adjustment. I also think the engine deserves a smoother gearbox which does not compare to my old Accords or the new Hondas gearboxes. I wish the hatchback had 6 inches more available for loading. It fits my bicycles but the length is tight.

SVT Focus - 2004 Ford Focus
By mkm - August 6 - 10:00 amWilling engine, superb suspension, excellent braking, loads of interior space, very well equipped (heated seats and mirrors even). Yeah, it could use more hp but it certainly is quick enough. High initial quality for a small car.

FUN CAR TO DRIVE AND GOOD DEAL TOO! - 2004 Ford Focus
By zippadeedudah - August 6 - 10:00 amTHIS CAR HAS MORE ROOM INSIDE THAN WOULD EVER BE EXPECTED. IT IS EXCELLENTLY DESIGNED AND IS AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE. THE GAS MILEAGE IS FANTASTIC AND IT IS AN ABSOLUTE JOY TO DRIVE. I THOUGHT THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE OUT FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE MAKING THE JUMP AND I CERTAINLY DO LIKE THIS CAR.

Pleasurable Driving - 2004 Ford Focus
By grybrd73 - July 31 - 2:00 amThis vehicle has proved to be very easy to handle. It corners easily, and this is very important to me. I have been very impressed with its response in a tight situation. Braking is smooth and secure. I just enjoy the vehicle.

SHO Alternative - 2004 Ford Focus
By ncb - June 12 - 2:00 amAlways liked the Tauras SHOs...This is a smaller version. Since my kids are now driving I could justify this car. Lots of fun to drive.

great car - 2004 Ford Focus
By terry b - June 8 - 10:00 amIve had the SVT about a month, and it has met my high expectations. For the money, nothing can touch it. Drove it 1800 miles up and down the Oregon coast, and had too much fun... the only car that could stay with it was a 740i that took me on an uphill passing lane... The car is docile around town, but when it comes on the cam, its like Jekyll and Hyde. My brother has a Cooper S, and the SVT has equivalent performance, a better ride, a usable back seat and costs $6K less... the Cooper is cuter, though. Only problem has been that throwout bearing noise, which seems to be chronic with these cars

better then expected. - 2004 Ford Focus
By jdft - June 8 - 10:00 ami was expecting to settle for a plain car, due to my financial limits. but this 2.3liter engine is very fast. it has more horsepower then my huge (in comparison) sable wagon had. the only areas of concern is lower gas mileage then expected, but perhaps that is because i like to drive it hard. the a/c is weak and blow dust and leaf debris thru the vents. love the new stereo system that lets me see title of song playing.
