  FINALLY Euro Focus is here! - 2012 Ford Focus

  I just took delivery of my 2012 Ford Focus SE Hatch on Sept. 17th. So far, the car has been reliable, but time will tell. I have read many reviews complaining about the dual clutch auto, and I havent experienced anything negative with it. I do notice that the transmission is reluctant to accelerate from a stop, but I think thats because the engine needs to rev higher. That is when the car opens up more. My previous car was a 2000 Toyota corolla, so ANYTHING is an upgrade from that! Most features that people take for granted, I LOVE having now. The very first day, I did notice some rough shifts, but I think that was just the car breaking in. The car has been smooth shifting since then.

  I have almost 3,000 miles on my 12 Focus SEL purchased 03/31/12. Two areas that concerned me at time of purchase have been addressed by FoMoCo. I have upgraded MyFordTouch and the system is faster, has not crashed, and integrates well with my IPhone 4s. Ive also had the transmission recalibrated under the recent service program. The drive is now smoother, lugs less at low speeds, does not lurch at low speeds, and downshifts quicker. I have no complaints about the recalibrated transmission only that this is how it should have been from the beginning. I am not getting the advertised MPGs but mileage has been improving with break in. Overall, its a great small car.

  I purchased this car about 3 weeks ago and after a few days the transmission would shudder when leaving from a stop, I took it back to the dealer and they confirmed what I was feeling was indeed a shudder. The dealer called Ford and Ford stated it was normal. How many potential purchasers would want a vehicle that shudders on takeoff? Anyway so I got a call from Ford Customer Service today if you want to call it that and the only reply I would get from the agent was it was normal. I was told it was a isolated incident that affected some vehicles. Ok so it is a isolated incident only affecting some vehicles how can it be classified as normal?

  6000 Miles. The car has been in the shop a total of 26 days. The tranny was rebuilt 2 times on the first trip in to service before it was replaced on the trip in. The software for the entire car has been reflashed on both trips to the service dept. The car wont idle at low speeds and the the car will shut down for no reason. This car is a safety hazard and will eventually get someone killed. It is a shame because the car could have been a great asset to Ford instead Ford puts out a piece of crap and refuses to admit they have a problem with this car. Save yourself a headache. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.

  Not like any Focus Ive ever been in before. Outstanding quality of materials throughout. Looks and feels equivalent to a Mercedes -- no joke. Feels "big", solid, and quiet while you drive, but has speedy performance when you want it.

  After 3 months and 2000 miles driving mine, I think they fixed the transmission issues on the Auto,Manual with some kind of recall/patch. Mine is smooth, quiet, only issue is very slight delays backing out and starting from stop, but not so bad to be annoying. Have yet to have a problem with the car. Started off getting about 34 MPG but now closer to 30. Think its my mix of driving, summer gas, and non-stop a/c on now.

  Ive had my Focus for about 5 months now and while the car looks awesome, I cant really recommend it to anyone. After 5 weeks of owning it, the sun roof exploded on my while I was driving down the interstate. It then sat at the dealer for 5 weeks waiting for a new sun roof. The shifting is horrible and unpredictable and is usually in third gear before you hit 15mph. The MyFord Touch is awesome, when its not locked up. I had to do a battery disconnect at one point because it was locked up and now my gas mileage sucks. I was getting over 40mpg before that on the hwy but now am getting about 33mpgs. HUGE difference. Looks arent everything, but you find out the hard way...

  Upset about bad keys - 2012 Ford Focus

  Bought my new 2012 Focus "S" 2 days ago. I pick it up from the repair at the dealer tomarrow. The computer kept saying "No key detected" and wouldnt start after putting only 77 miles on it. The dealer called me today while i was at work and said they found a new key and it works. Still im pissed. IT BETTER WORK ! Ill pick up my NEW car tomarrow ; AGAIN!

  I love this car - 2012 Ford Focus

  Took delivery 2 weeks ago and this car (SEL version) has got everything I needed. Technology apart, I am completely sold on the handling and performance of this vehicle. I already see a 30 MPG on my dash with 900 miles on the odometer - mostly city driving. Havent gone on a long drive yet and I am sure the vehicle can deliver on the 35 MPG promise on highways. I went with 10 speaker Sony Audio system and it is a mind blowing stereo experience. My Ford Touch is a little buggy but works with all my USBs and voice commands - cool. The vehicle strikes a perfect balance on the performance, afforadability, technology, fuel-efficiency and handling. The interior has a very clean finish. We love it!
