  • YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR - 2013 Ford Focus

This car is very cheap to purchase and lots of fun to drive. But since I have had it I have had to replace one of the front drive axles and the parking brake. The front end sounds loose. The paint on the hood is already chipping off. I drive very conservatively and do not follow cars close for this reason. I know it is not my fault. The S model comes with automatic lights but only on the dash, so when it gets dark enough your dash lights come on, but not your headlights. I have been pulled over by the police already because I did not have my headlights on. On the other hand it is fun to drive and with the price being so cheap you can afford to make the modifications you want to make it yours

  • Love/hate relationship - 2013 Ford Focus

I got this car mainly because I have always owned Fords and they have always been reliable. As far as getting me where I need to go, this car is reliable. I have a love/hate relationship with my car mainly because some days it will run exceptionally smooth and some days it sounds like the wheels are going to fall off and it shakes like the transmission is going to fall out. I have heard the whole "give it a few hundred miles" speech, and well, I have given it 8,000 with no change. Its mostly when I pull out, slow down and pick up speed again, or go up a steep hill that the transmission feels like its going to kick the bucket. But when it runs smooth, it runs smooth.

  • Transmission problem - 2013 Ford Focus
    By -

I am very unhappy with the "new transmission" Ford has put in the new 2013 Focus. My car is 7 months old and has had 4 visits for the same issue. Last month it was in the shop for almost 2 weeks due to a leak of a seal and needing a new clutch. The transmission shifts inappropriatly and puts me at high risk for smashing into a car ahead of me. The answer given by the Ford employees is that I need to learn the car and how to drive it. Unacceptable answer!

  • Absolutely love it! - 2013 Ford Focus

I love this car! Got it in April, now have just 6000 miles on it. Mileage started out a little low, 31 mph, but am now getting right around 37 mpg and I drive various traffic situations. I waited a long time to get a Focus, rode in several other Focuses and knew this is what I wanted although I had to trade in my 2000 Explorer XLS to get it. I do miss the extra cargo space, but the overall ride, flip down rear seat makes up for it. I have the Focus Sedan SE with 6 cyl. automated manual transmission. Did not see a selection for it.

  • If you want to hear rattling metal, buy one. - 2013 Ford Focus
    By -

We bough this car 5 days ago. It has less than 350 miles on it and is making a horrible rattling noise. Hundreds of threads out there of people complaining of the same issue that appears to be related to the transmission and FORD does not have a fix. Its horribly disappointing to have this happen so soon. Stay away from this car!

  • Great value for the price, but not without drawbacks. - 2013 Ford Focus

Great car for the price, got mine for what I consider a steal. Drives like european sedan...puts a smile on my face the way it goes around turns effortlessly. Engine not yet broken in, and computer needs to be calibrated but so far I can exceed 40mpg going 65, and hit 35 going 75. This car needs almost no maintenance! GladI didnt purchase extended warranty: Platinum plugs, ceramic brake pads, synthetic tranny lube, top consume reports rated cooper tires, this car is built to last (I hope!). If you do buy this car, I recommend going with car and drivers advice and buying a manual SE model with the upgrade package, allowing you to avoid My Ford Touch and dullard of an auto tranny.

  • 2007 Focus SES 2 door Hatch Back - 2013 Ford Focus

I bought my Ford Focus SES new and have performed all of the routine maintenance myself. The vehicle has not required any repair. I primarily drive and service with an emphasis on preserving the reliability of the automobile. I have replaced the battery and wiper blades only. The origional tires show 50% wear. I live in Las Vegas, NV, and high summer temperatures kill automobile batteries. I get only 2+ years of battery service in our vehicles. I buy batteries from Ford. They last longer than other batterys, ie: Walmart, K Mart, etc. If I drive conservatively, I achieve the EPA fuel economy ratings. Best handling small car I have ever owned. 37K miles, Always garaged.

  • Purchased the Focus Hatchback 2013 in Jan. and was very pleased with everything for the first week but the second week it began making noises upon acceleration and continued to get worse. Brought it into the Dealership and they said I needed to drive it - 2013 Ford Focus

Have had the Focus Hatchback for 2 months and was very pleased with everything for the first week but by the second week it was making noise when accelerating and cont. to get worse. I brought the car to the Dealership and they said they could not do anything till 1000 miles. I brought it back at 1000 miles but Ford says this problem is occuring on the 2013 Focus but the engineers do not know what the problem is so they can not fix it yet. They returned the car to me and told me to keep driving until the problem is fiqured out. This makes me very nervous, what could happen to it next. I would think about another car until they have fiqured these quirks out.

  • A Big Waste of Money - 2013 Ford Focus

The Focus Ti I have looks sharp, but its not dependable technology wise . I have been locked out of it twice. The 8 inch display has frozen on me so as I coulnt call to get help. The phone unpairs three times a week as Ford after 5years hasnt got syncing their cars right yet. Just Google all the complaints by owners who bring their cars back and the service people blame the phone or the weather. Served my country and got screwed and tried to belive in an American car and got screwed again. Not the dealers fault or the poor mechanic whos not a techie,Ford is in one big mess. Ill have my German car by 2015. What a waste of $25,585 sticker price I had to pay excise tax on.

  • I like it! - 2013 Ford Focus

Ok, I got to the Ford Focus by accident. I originally went to the local dealer to see a Fiesta, but their inventory was nonexistent, then I asked for the Focus and they only had one. Next door was a Honda dealer so we looked at a Civic, Liked it, but they would not do a deal over rims. So I went to Spokane to Wendle Motors after looking at their inventory online. Sent two car that I wanted to look at and they had them all ready for me. Test drove a White focus SE and a Grey Fiesta, loved both chose the Focus. No issues with it, small learning curve with all the controls, handles well and Good gas mileage so far. No issues with trany. I would recommend this car. in is an auto not 5 speed.
