Overview & Reviews
Minor changes are in store for the 2003 Ford Focus. Two new trim levels increase the breadth of prices for Ford's economy car; a base trim for the three door hatchback renders air conditioning optional and only comes with a manual transmission. For the five door hatchback, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, front reading lights and a center console are available when you step up to the comfort trim level from the base level. Heated front seats are a new option, as is a traction control and ABS package. New colors for the exterior brighten up the color palette, and the interior is freshened with two new fabric trims. Finally, a CD/MP3 player is now standard on the ZX3 and ZX5. A SVT version of the ZX5 is also scheduled to appear later in the year.
- Thoughtful ergonomics, large interior, smooth ride, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

good bang for the buck - 2003 Ford Focus
By smacks - March 9 - 10:00 amIve had the car for 4 months and I love it. My dollars went a long way in QUALITY, which is more than I can say for the competitors in its price range.

Zytec & Automatic - 2003 Ford Focus
By mj - October 29 - 3:40 pmI purchased this car 1 1/2 years ago and I have been very pleased. Ive only gone about 11,000 miles, but have had no problems at all. Very very smooth drive, i.e. good shocks & suspension take the whump out of most smaller bumps. I get between 30-32 mpg on my model with a 50/50 mix of highway and city driving. The passive antitheft is a great feature - without the special radio-enabled key in the ignition, the car wont start. Reduces my worry that the car will be stolen. Very large trunk is nice. Trunk lid does not pop up very high, but a light does appear on the dash so Im ok with that. Also - when trunk closes there are no giant hinges that eat up trunk space. All in all, a great car.

My first car! - 2003 Ford Focus
By Amanda - October 18 - 12:33 amI just got the car a month ago and its great. It was my first car and my dad and I just decided to go test drive a Ford Focus because I had seen them and liked them a lot. We were "just looking" But we found a 2003 ford Focus SE light green type and packed with power everything. We knew this was the car (we had been just looking for a bit, at least for me). And since my dad couldnt find a scratch on it we got it. I have to say if you are looking for a good realiable first car for your teen I recomend this car!

Great Car - 2003 Ford Focus
By ADM - October 6 - 10:00 amThe best way to catagorize this car is its motorcycle with windows. It handles great and is great fun to drive. Wish it had a little more power, but thats always the case.

Under-rated, under-estimated - 2003 Ford Focus
By warehousebum - July 12 - 10:00 amAbsolutely in love with this car. Dont be off-put by the 2000-2001 recall whiners- hasnt been a recall since 01 and my ZX3 hasnt had a single problem to date. This car is so much fun to drive that I often find myself taking the long-way to destinations. A convoluted intake system robs this car of much-needed low-end torque (even with the 5-speed manual), but its still easy to chirp the tires and its great in the higher revs. A surprisingly fun car to flog in the twisties. All the friends whom Ive allowed to test-drive dont want to give up the keys. For a $13,000 hatch-back!
