Overview & Reviews
Minor changes are in store for the 2003 Ford Focus. Two new trim levels increase the breadth of prices for Ford's economy car; a base trim for the three door hatchback renders air conditioning optional and only comes with a manual transmission. For the five door hatchback, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, front reading lights and a center console are available when you step up to the comfort trim level from the base level. Heated front seats are a new option, as is a traction control and ABS package. New colors for the exterior brighten up the color palette, and the interior is freshened with two new fabric trims. Finally, a CD/MP3 player is now standard on the ZX3 and ZX5. A SVT version of the ZX5 is also scheduled to appear later in the year.
- Thoughtful ergonomics, large interior, smooth ride, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

Enjoy My ZTS w/2.3 PZEV - 2003 Ford Focus
By Red Doggy - February 1 - 2:00 amReally surprised by the performance and smoothness of the 2003 ZTS with the 2.3 PZEV engine and 5 speed manual transmission. Ive owned it for 2 months and had no problems. It handles like a sporty car. Hope the reliability is better than the earlier 2000-2001 models, which received a lot of recalls.

GREAT FUN AT LOW COST - 2003 Ford Focus
By 1BadEgg - January 24 - 10:00 amCouldnt be happier. Lots of car for the money. Got a ZX3 Premium for mid 13s. Lots of room for a compact, Zetec engine with a 5 speed is a must. Have never been in a position where I was underpowered. Ride is good, a little noise, but acceptable. Seat height and wheel up/down/in/out option is great.

Best in class - 2003 Ford Focus
By 2.3 focus R - January 15 - 10:00 amimprovements not required in the focus line up. performance is great with the 2.3 engine; better than almost any other car in its class, even better than the V-6 in my wifes malibu! Its relatively quiet, even w/ low profile tires. handling is great, as is comfort on longer trips. driver seat adjustability is great. If you like to drive, and youre on a budget, this is your car!

feels like a $30,000 car - 2003 Ford Focus
By frogman - January 7 - 2:00 amgreat driving dynamics, i recently had to drive from philly to ny in a snowstorm passing over a dozen accidents while the cars advancetrac stability control system never let me skid for more than 12 inches. the cockpit is very well laid out, excellent field of vision, not one single aspect of the interior trim looks or feels cheap.while shopping for this vehicle i compared it to 9 other cars in its segment, nothing felt anywhere near as polished or fun to drive.

Ford Focus Rocks - 2003 Ford Focus
By tonya byrum - August 14 - 10:00 amI was scepticle about buying my new Focus wagon. I worried that I would tire of it quickly and worried that I might not find it sporty enough. But, I absolutely love it. I have never been happier with an auto purchase.

So much car for relatively few dollars - 2003 Ford Focus
By 2003ZX5SVT - August 2 - 2:00 amWhen I bought this car I knew it would be fun, but I didnt realize what a great package Ford put together. Its practical, feature laden, sporty, fun, roomy, cheap all things that usually not found in a single car. It could use more power, but thats always true. The creature comforts are first rate - HID lights on a sub 20K car - wow. It handles like its on rails, once moving is relatively fast.

fun sedan - 2003 Ford Focus
By chili dawg - July 13 - 2:00 amJust got a 03 se sedan, automatic. This is a solid little sedan with lots of features and a smooth ride. Trunk is roomy as is the interior. 6 disc player in dash is just off the hook, stock speakers sound good too. I love the trunk release button on the keyless unit.

ZX3, Best driving experience - 2003 Ford Focus
By markregel - June 13 - 10:00 amI love my 2000 Focus XZ3. This car has the best road-feel and handling of any I have driven. The ride is smooth and composed. Just finished riding a friends new Nissan Sentra. I didnt tell him, but no way would I trade it for my Focus. The ride was harsh and it sits low, like riding in a hole. Build Quality?
