Overview & Reviews
The emissions-friendly 2.3-liter PZEV engine released in limited states in 2003 is now available as an option in all states (it comes standard in California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Maine). The only other notable changes to the 2004 Ford Focus are newly optional leather seating for ZX3 models, and a slightly revised suspension offers improved handling.
- Thoughtful ergonomics, spacious interior, fun-to-drive character, sharp steering, impressive selection of body configurations and features.

Good things in small.packages - 2004 Ford Focus
By M J - January 5 - 9:48 amI bought this car in Mau 2015 with 91k on it. I never had any issues really. Changed plugs in 10 minutes, the alternator went out, but with miles was expected. The strut mounts are squeeking, but not a safety issue. All around a decent car to have. I will have this car til it dies completely. This is my first Ford and I was skeptical. Impressive small car and great.

2004 SVT Focus - 2004 Ford Focus
By jkevallen - September 15 - 2:00 amDriving over the Santa Cruz mountains to work every day this car is a ton of fun to drive. Great bang for the buck. I purchased it Used in 2009 and have loved every minute. In mostly highway (commute) driving I consistently get 30 mpg. Only mechanical issue Ive had is needing to replace the clutch master cylinder for $270. If left out in the sun in high heat the gauges sometimes dont read correctly after start up. Other than that I love the car. Looking forward to the new Focus ST to be released in 2012.

Great Car - 2004 Ford Focus
By Keith - June 9 - 9:02 pmGreat Car! Bought used with 24,000 miles on it, now have 105,000 and had only minor issues. Pretty comfortable, great gas mileage, 2.3 delivers good power too. Only issue I have is that it doesnt do all that great in the snow.

Loads of Room Inside - 2004 Ford Focus
By amapola - May 1 - 1:39 pmThis wagon holds a ton of stuff. We are using it to go camping and theres loads of room for everything and everybody. Its a zippy little vehicle and easy to park in small spaces. Surprisingly smooth ride for such a small car. It looks very sleek ,unlike some of the SUVs we considered. Fuel economy is great. Altogether a very good buy.

Fun - 2004 Ford Focus
By E.Ruppert - November 22 - 2:00 amThis is a great little car. Lots of fun to drive, handles great, and has a surprising amount of power. It gets up and merges to freeway speed without any problem. The Focus has better overall quality than most of the other comparable cars I test drove before deciding to purchase..

Love My Frogmobile. - 2004 Ford Focus
By Tim the tool man - November 11 - 10:00 amMy Focus ZTW is the best car I have owned in several years. The Focus is not a problematic car like it was when it was first introduced. the car is fun to drive, economical, and quite frankly handy as a pocket on a shirt when it comes to hauling your stuff.Alos this car is comfortable to ride in I love it.

Great Car Little Possible Improvments - 2004 Ford Focus
By Chris Barton - November 11 - 10:00 amI really enjoy driving my car. I dont have any options in it other then AC, CD player and cruise becaues Im 67 I can reach across the car easy. The only suggestion that I would have would be to maybe add a hood scoop. It is a sporty looking car and It would appeal to the teenage and younger crowd if you had a hood scoop like the mustangs, and maybe better city to highway mileage. 30 city and 35-40 highway would be able to compete better with the foreign cars in the economic standpoint.

A Wonderful Car - 2004 Ford Focus
By Stuart Bernstein - November 10 - 12:02 amI have been totally satisfied with my 2004 Ford Focus ZTS. It is a well made, reliable, economical and fun to drive vehicle. I currently have about 85,000 miles on my car. I still have orginal brakes, clutch etc. Car has been almost problem free. Only problem has been the accelerator linkage which had to be replaced twice under warranty. Thats about it. My mileages is 27/34 with an average of 30 mpg. My only wish that it was a little quieter inside the cabin when driving high speed. Not really a problem though-only a wish. Seats are very comfortable-I have a bad back too! I traded in my 2000 ZTS for this Honey. My wife drives a 2001 Focus as well.

Focus ZTS - 2004 Ford Focus
By Tome Jons - October 16 - 10:00 amGreat car. Ou performs many V6s in similar size cars. Great value for $$. Very economical to drive and to own. Out handles many "sport" cars.
