  • Solid Truck - 1997 Ford F-250

No major problems (yet). Mine has the small v8 with tow package so it is slow going up hills with a trailer. At 100k miles transmission is starting to have rough shifts when cold. Havent done much towing or city driving and it has a cooler as part of the tow package. Original Goodyear tires lasted 92k miles! Still on original disk brake pads at 108k miles. Best truck I have owned.

  • Good Work Truck - 1995 Ford F-250

We purchased our 95 F250 a year or two ago and have been impressed with its performance, even under heavy stress. We normally tow a 16 trailer, and sometimes haul heavy loads like bricks or other building materials. The 460 engine always starts well and has lots of power and torque for being a fairly primitive engine design. Fuel economy is usually anywhere from 9 mpg city/12 mpg highway, depending on the load and wind conditions, so the fuel bill leaves somewhat to be desired! The only trouble it has given us is some rear brake problems, cheap interior plastic parts, and some issues with the clutch linkage. Otherwise, its been a solid, reliable work truck.

Excellent truck. Fuel efficiency is bad but who cares, its a full size truck. Power is excellent its not fast, but it can pull anything you want it to. Bought truck last month with 90k miles, still runs great, no problems. I would suggest bumping the three speed transmission to four or five but it does everything it was meant for plus more.

  • An excellent truck - 1996 Ford F-250

I am the original owner. This truck has lived up to its makers name ... Ford Tough. The brake problems that plagued earlier models is gone. This truck has no rattles. It pulls and pulls. I have the original batteries and they are still good. I have carried 4000 lbs in the back with no problem. I highly recommend this as a work truck for anyone as it has been reliable. The only repairs I have done are a starter relay, brakes, shocks, and glow plug relay. Thats it!

I love my truck even though Ive done a lot lot to it. Bought it at 121,000 miles at 140,000 miles had to rebuild the engine - new Crane cam, pistions, pushrods, lifters, new alternator, new water pump but the alt and water pump lasted 125,000 miles. Factory original 2 sets of tires also put a k&n air filter Only use Rotella T 5-40 full synthetic and platnium plugs, premium wires premium every thing - also have a goose neck hitch and full range of 6 axle trailer brake and all lights, even rv hook ups pushing 270hp and 400 ft pds

  • pretty much a bullit-proof truck - 1999 Ford F-250
    By -

Ive put over 60k miles on this beast including hauling a 36 fifth wheel trailer from California to Tennessee. We make yearly trips down into Baja Mexico. Only one time did it let me down, a rare failure of the camshaft sensor shut it down. That is my only complaint but a risk we take with modern computer reliance. We love this truck and have no intention of ever giving it up. Jus tneed to add a posi unit to it!
