Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

I have recently fallen in love with this truck. I give its preformance, comfort, fuel economy, funness to drive, interior design, exterior design, build quality, and reliability all a perfect 10.

I had a hard time finding the exact model that I wanted, but it was worth the wait. Very quiet, strong built, and fun to drive. I saw an add on TV with Joe Montana, and he was driving the exact model and color (red) that I have! Wahoo. I just need to get a few bales of hay to throw in the back to complete the picture.

  • Good, but could be the absolute best - 2006 Ford F-150

This week I traded in my first F150, a one-owner 1994 green XL 4x4, for a new silver 2006 SLX 4x4. In other words, a slightly upgraded version of the same truck. The old truck had served me well for 12 years. It still had original parts except for the water pump and gas tank. Its last task was over Memorial Day weekend when I used it to yank 25 feet of corrugated steel drainage pipe, 2 diameter, out from a heavy clay pond embankment. Id like to have kept it another 2-5 years, but with 2 teenage drivers in the family, I wanted the improved safety engineering of the newer trucks.

  • Gone downhill - 2006 Ford F-150

I bought this truck to replace my 2004 4.6L with the hoped of getting better fuel economy while towing. I have a 22 travel trailer that weighs about 6000 pounds when Im traveling. On a trip from Sarasota Fla, to Disney in Orlando, I managed 8.5MPG at 65MPH. The truck is really straining to go any faster than that. When I arrived, I had a pungent oder of overheated transmission. On the return trip, I slowed down to 60MPH and managed to get to 9.1MPG. On the way back the cruise control keeps disengaging itself after about a hundred miles. When I arrived, I checked the transmission fluid, and it smells burned. My dealer says there is nothing wrong.

  • Nice Truck but typical problems - 2005 Ford F-150

As everybody else has stated the truck is quiet, smoother than a car, safe and very sharp. I pull a 27 Baja boat and the 5.4 triton has no problems. Everybody compliments on the looks inside and out. Problems: At 30,000 miles all of the brake pads tore apart and had to be replaced, then at 35,000 miles 4 fuel injectors failed (Thankfully it was still under warranty). Which is frustrating because the dealer said Ford knows this is a problem but will not recall it. When we first got the truck we had it in the shop 5x for a whinning noise in the 4X4 when it got below 25deg, they finally fixed it but really could not tell me why it was doing that. The interior sold us on this over the comp

Great truck so far, I have people always telling me how great it looks. Only problems is when I had a trailer hitch installed they had to remove the anti-vibration device to install it.

For a full size truck you cant beat the power. I tow a 1969 s&s Hearse 6000 lbs and its like towing a small camper. Almost dont know its there! But as far as gas mileage goes might as well pour the gas out onto the ground gas mileage is only 18 on the highway at best.
