Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Lariat F150 - 2005 Ford F-150
By Bob - October 20 - 5:23 amI wanted an upgrade from the 1995 basic F150 I traded in. I feel good riding in it, looking at it, washing it and getting numerous complements. I plan on keeping this one longer then the previous truck.

Bad Investment - 2008 Ford F-150
By Randy - October 19 - 9:05 pmI acquired a F-150 for a heavy work load. Big mistake. This vehicle would be good for occasional work and commuting, but has limited capabilities. It is underpowered, loud, poor gas mileage, and unreliable. I spent a small fortune keeping this truck running. I replaced this truck as quickly as financially possible.

Good basic truck - 2001 Ford F-150
By jrm - October 18 - 2:38 pm120k miles, only minor problems. Have replaced the clutch and a set of tires (original brake pads still going strong!). Mazda 5-speed is not a smooth shifter but has been a solid gearbox. V6 is noisy and doesnt have a lot of power but seems to be a solid little engine, no issues with it at all in 7 years/120k miles. Did have a lean condition due to upper intake gaskets, but that was easily fixed in an afternoon with $60 of parts.

Rough Idle - 2004 Ford F-150
By RoughStuff - October 17 - 10:00 amThe engine (5.4L) idles rough when stopped at lights/stops signs. Occasionally tries to stall when starting from a dead stop. Dealer unable to solve. Very nice truck but I am considering unloading it at a loss because this is so frustrating.

cold tailgate wont open and sucks on snow - 2016 Ford F-150
By Kevin Stoner - October 11 - 3:08 pmwhen its cold out until it heats up my tailgate will not open. something is messed up with the lock. The truck in the snow sucks unless its in 4 wheel drive. it slides all over the place in light snow. I had a 2014 fx4 with old body and did just fine. that 1000 pounds makes it suck in the snow for basically 3 miles to gallon better. dont get a ding either. the Aluminum is not as tough as they say. it dents really easily. not impressed. I love ford but may be thinking about a chevy or gmc for my next one. they took away lots of the options for the fx4 as well on 2016. mine now has half the options. just like the folding mirrors. it absoutely sucks going to car wash. I have to get out of the freaking truck and fold mirrors in. Ford has missed the mark on the 2016!!!

Lightning - 2002 Ford F-150
By Jeremy - October 9 - 10:09 pmGood daily driver or pull the race car to the track or a trip to Home Depot this is a great truck. For a small half ton it does the job. For serious big truck people this is not for you. This truck has some car characteristics. Its almost worthless and you cant help to love it.

Beautiful Ford Truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By Cary Ling - October 9 - 12:11 pmI bought this truck on one of those love at first sight programs. It has been a great truck and runs and drives excellent. I got the 7 year extended warranty just in case. I still have five years left. I received a notice for a 10 year extended warranty on the fuel injectors but have had no problems at all. I have limited slip and it pulls my boats with ease. It is a powerful engine, (5.4) and feels like the muscle cars of old. I also have and use the back up safety sensors constantly. Gas mileage is not too bad 18-25 on average. I have two six bangers that cant get near what I get with that big V8. The suicide doors on the super cab are great and it looks so good rather then a four door.

WORST F-150 - 2005 Ford F-150
By CDF - October 8 - 2:03 pmI purchased this vehicle new 6 months ago and it has been in the shop 6 times so far. The dealer says they cannot fix the vibration in the rear end after 4 attempts. There have been several different problems. Some parts were not even installed (a/c hose - water was going in floorboard). I can not even get a loaner vehicle while it is being repaired but 2 times. It has currently been at the dealership about 36 days and counting. Im waiting on a buy-back or replacement. I also have a claim with the BBB AutoLine.

Wow! - 2008 Ford F-150
By txgreek - October 6 - 10:42 pmI have owned this decked out King Ranch a while now and gotta say that I am extremely impressed with the build quality of Ford. I had a 2006 Dodge diesel 4x4 that had given me so many problems that I was really worried about getting into another American made truck. All I can say is wow!

I love this truck - 1999 Ford F-150
By joe - October 6 - 11:44 amI bought this truck from my father 3 years ago. I love it. Besides normal maintanance the only thing that has gone wrong with it is the alternator died in it at about 150,000 miles. It now has 185 and I still get 18-20 mpg from my 4.2 v6. My father has an 07 Ram with the 4.7 v8 and my truck can tow the same things and haul what it does all with 2 less cylinders and I pay almost 15 bucks less a week for gas and I got a bigger gas tank. I can go close to 600 miles on a tank
