Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

My 1991 Ford F-150 has the 4.9L straight 6. It was given to me from my uncle with 85,000 miles on it. It now has 187,000. I have not changed the oil since i got it and it still runs very strong. Im not too big on the transmissions on the 91 Ford since my reverse went out.

  • Love this truck - 2006 Ford F-150

This is my 2nd pickup. I love this truck. I have used it a lot to haul tools, quadrunner, furniture you name it. I am surprised how well the back seat works for kids, dog, etc. I feel like I got a very good value with this truck and hope to pass it on to my son in 10 years.

I have driven Ford vehicles for the 20 years. I like the style, ergonomics, ride, dependibility of each Ford product I have owned. However, my F-150 Lariat Super Cab, 2wd,5.4liter V8 has been and still continues to be a lemon. From the very beginning it has had a bad viberation. I have had 5 sets of tires, three drive shafts, 2 rear pioion gears, trans.rebuilt new trans., 2,radio /6 cd changers, speaker problems, auto rear sildiging window. These were all while it was still warranty. Ford engineers even came from somewhere out of state to try to find the promblem. They cant find out what is wrong. Ford really let me down. Im not aginst Ford prod. this one just not right from the start.

I just bought this truck. The 500 miles I put on this vehicle have been on pavement and dirt, the truck runs perfectly and the ride even on dirt roads is a breeze.Ilove it.Also fit and finish were very good, the only draw back is when backing up for a short person like my self its hard to see behind the truck so be careful and buy the back up warning device

  • Great Truck - 2008 Ford F-150

I have the XL with the XL decor group and auto transmission, limited slip rear end and sliding rear glass. This is the perfect base truck. It is well built and designed, and rides like a cadillac. Gas mileage in town has been as high as 19 which is as good as the Hyundai Accent I replaced was getting. The 10% ethanol blends have not negatively affected mileage like it seems to do with other engines. (straight gas is not available in my state) Plenty of power for a V6. Visibilty is great. The standard features and built in quality are well thought out for a truck

Second F150, first was a 5.4 that I put 170000.00 on. Well now they made it even better! A little more juice from the 5.4 and the 6 speed is a doll and you feel like the truck knows you, and the seats are more comfortable, they werent bad before! Yea others may have more power but they dont have the low end grunt, this beast is a pleasure to drive.

  • Reliable truck - 2008 Ford F-150

This is a good truck. I purchased the 4.6L V8 and it is underpowered. I suggest that you purchase the larger V8. The electronics should be laid out better. I often take my eyes off the road to change the radio. However, this truck is fun to drive and has a tall stature on the road. Handles well and drive more like a car than a truck. I have the split bench front seat and it is a little uncomfortable on long trips.

First Ford truck I have owned, 4 Chevys previously. Had Ford a short time but am very impressed with the small things compared to Chevy. cup holder on dash, cruise on wheel, power package for base truck (windows, doors, mirrors), light weight tailgate, bed light comes on automaticly, side running boards.

  • 242,000 miles and still going strong - 1999 Ford F-150
    By -

Bought this truck with over 110,000 miles on the 5.4 Liter engine for $6,000 5 years ago. The guy that owned it before me towed flat bed trailers loaded with steel across country for a living. I was scared as heck to buy it, but Ive always been a Ford man so went by faith. Well Ive got 242,000 miles on the engine and all is great. Not near as snappy off the block or as tight, but I can still press the gas in congested driving situations and blow the doors off anyone. I love this truck so much. Im about to buy my next used Ford F150 Lariat with a 100,000 miles on it. Embarrassed to say, but Ive let the engine run out of oil at least 3 times (dry as a bone). Oe tough engine!
