Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

I like most things about the new F150 -- BUT I DO NOT like the gear shift on the floor, the black plastic mirrors (altho bigger IS better) and the black plastic door handles

After driving my old 87 Ranger for over 13 yrs. it was such a pleasure to get in and drive this machine. (04 F150 XLT 4x4 Supercab) A comparison between the two is like night and day. Now i even look for reasons to drive it.

  • The most solid 1/2 ton built - 2008 Ford F-150

Ill start this by saying Im an auto dealer and have owned many different trucks. I have an 08 F150 XLT with the FX2 front end. It has the 5.4 V8 which is a great workhorse for longevity and strength. It tows my 10,400 ib. trailer like its not behind me. The only aftermarket performance parts are a Volant cold air intake and Flowmaster exhaust. I get between 16- 17mpg in town and 21 on the highway with cruise. My business partner has an 05 F150 FX4 with 201,000 miles on his 5.4. First engine and transmission. They are definitely built Ford tough. Just run synthetic fluids and keep out of the throttle. By far the strongest, most comfortable, most practical truck out there.

  • Great Truck - 2005 Ford F-150

Ive owned several pickups before this one and the 2005 F-150 is the best pickup Ive owned. Interior comfort and noise level is outstanding. The build quality is excellent.

  • Ford Rules! - 2006 Ford F-150

I just had this truck for little over a month now, and its been nothing but great. The first new vehicle Ive ever owned and not griped about something about it after having it for a short amount of time. The fit and finish and overall looks and performance for such a big engine has been the best experience Ive ever had with Ford truck.

  • Best Ive owned - 2001 Ford F-150

This is the best truck Ive ever owned. Sometimes I wish it wasnt so reliable so I could justify buying something newer. With 115,000 miles it still has the original spark plugs, coils, alternator, shocks, etc, and gets just shy of 18 mpg on the highway. Ive never been crazy about the styling (exterior or interior) but it drives well and is very comfortable.

  • Worst Ever - 2007 Ford F-150

This is my 4th F150 Lariat since 2000 and probably the worst (Lariat Chrome edition). Ive had it for 2 years now and its been in and out of the shop on many occasions for engine bogginess (5.4L), transmission problems (transmission has now been rebuilt), brake problems (2 brake jobs already), backup sensor problems (replaced 2 so far). My lease expires in less than a year. Thank God! Ive had enough. I dont think I will be leasing another Ford truck again.

Bought this truck with 208000 miles and had just had the clutch replaced. Put a new battery and starter, did a tune up and this truck always starts and never lets me down. With over 222000 miles now no problems and expect this truck to last me 5 more years. Best 1500 dollars I have ever spent on a car.

I used to drive a Maxima, but found it to be less than practical. I needed a truck so I got the F-150, and its pretty sweet. The power is sufficient for me, lots of cargo capacity, exterior styling is the best and the interior is deluxe. I had always thought Chevy had Fisher Price interior styling. I did consider the Titan but wasnt happy with my last Nissan expeince, so I went with Ford. I do notice some vibration/shaking when driving at 65MPH. Maybe its poorly balanced tires or just a tight suspension. Ill have it checked out.

  • Absolutely Great Truck - 2002 Ford F-150
    By -

I have owned my 2002 Lightning since I bought it new in July, 2002. I would highly recommend this vehicle. It is powerful, tight, handles like a dream. Used 2002s are selling for $15,000 to $20,000. If you can find one in good shape, buy it! Its a terrific value. This is the fastest pick up on the road. After 6 1/2 years, Im still in love with it and will never sell it.
