Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Considering the low mileage, this truck has had an enormous amount of mechanical problems, including a tranny rebuild at 72000. The interior and ride are comfortable and the frame is quite strong and I think its a sharpt looking truck. But, performance-wise, it basically is the worst of both worlds--underpowered with poor fuel economy. I get 9 mpg while pulling the a relatively light trailer but still cant get over 70mph. Maybe with the 5.4 engine, it would be better but I think Im done with Ford for now.

Great build quality. Amazingly agile considering size and ruggedness. Handling is exceptional for a large 4X4. Refined interior with great ergonomics. Rear seats fold flat with minimal effort for expanded flat floor space.

  • darn good truck - 1995 Ford F-150

I got the truck for free from my uncle he bought it in 1995 for 16,000. Had it overhauled at 186,000 miles. I myself have done the balljoints, brakes, regular tune ups and all that stuff. So far the best truck I have ever owned, the straight six is probably the best motor around. I was 16 when I got the truck and was very hard on it! 2 feet of mud, no lift, and still made it through, has pulled out plenty of people stuck in ditches, and mud roads. Won best old beater when I graduated high school. Candy Apple red and wouldnt trade it for the world.

  • Never Again - 2006 Ford F-150

I purchased my F-150 Crew Cab 4X4 as a lease return with 26,000 miles. It was actually the SECOND F-150 that I purchased from the same dealer within two weeks as the FIRST truck had the 5.4 which blew up after TWO days. The mechanic told me that there is a problem with the 5.4 losing oil pressure to the top end. I had to get flat-bedded in off of the interstate. The second and current truck has been a nightmare. 30 days after purchase the four wheel drive crapped out and numerous 4X4 components required replacement. Within 60 days the instrument cluster digital information center stopped working. On the way to the dealer for the scheduled maintenance, the steering went.

  • What a truck! - 2005 Ford F-150

This is an excellent truck that looks good and handles well. The model change from pre-2004 F-150s is awesome. This is my 5th F-150 and, so far, the best.

  • Great Truck - 2000 Ford F-150

Ive had it for 10years now and it has been the best truck Ive ever owned. No real issues, only typical wear items such as shocks, ball joints, rotors, pads, belts. I haul a camper into some very remote Colorado back country hunting, and have never been left stranded...or been stuck. 4 chains on the tires 4x4 and this truck will go through 3 feet of snow!

  • Great truck - 2004 Ford F-150

This is my first brand new vehicle and so far its been a great buy. The new design is well accepted and appropriate as not to appear dated. While the truck has awesome power, performance is lagging due to the near 6000lb weight. Ford can do better to reduce the weight of the trucks in future models. The ergonomics are reasonably thought out but I always feel Im reaching a bit too far for the radio/temperature controls, but I also sit as far back as the seat goes. The interior design is nearing luxury looks, with the wood finish and chrome, although you can spend much more for looks on new Lincoln Mark LT, or whatever its called.

I own a crew cab and it has been the best investment I have ever made on a vehcile. I own a 2001 F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 with the 5.4L engine. I also have every option you can get. I have been really impressed with the 5.4L performance and it doesnt get the best mileage but it is well worth the extra money in fuel. I drove this rig from Geogria to Washington State and I thought the ride quality and the seat comfort was great.I would recommend this vechile to anyone.

Its the top of the top. Lots of bells and whistles. Only issue I have is I cant see the blinker on the mirror from inside the truck.

  • SO FAR SO GOOD - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

I love this truck, and with some personnal touches, its looking GOOD!! Surpisingly, I get about 17-18 mpg (city), and 19 to 20(hwy). My best was 21 mpg on the hwy, not bad. Only problem I had so far was a bad window motor, at $300 plus labor.. Other then that this truck has been too sweet.
