Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

36 gallon gas tank? - 2009 Ford F-150
By Tom - June 1 - 6:05 pmIts too expensive to fill up with a 36 gallon gas tank with gas almost $3 a gallon it costs me a fortune and have to take a loan outta the bank to afford to fill it up! The stock Goodyear Wrangler tires are wearing funny, took it back to the dealer twice and they just rotated the tires. The stitching on the front seats are coming loose, cant install a seat cover cause the side air bags are in the seat. never got any better than 14.3 MPG

So far-so good- - 1997 Ford F-150
By cj - May 24 - 7:22 pmAfter reviewing this site for several vehicles I was looking at Im happy to say that I decided on the F-150. Granted I have only had this beautiful black truck for twenty-four hours! It has high mileage,154,000, but runs and handles real strong. My roommate has a Chevy Quad cab 4wd long bed which I enjoyed driving except it was hard to park and turn corners, but the truck was fun to drive. This truck gives me equal pleasure, with the added bonus of turning corners easily and ease of parking. The ride is smooth, and everything is working at this point. There is a worn ball joint that will need to be replaced soon. Will post again as my time grows with this truck.

This Ford Rules! - 2010 Ford F-150
By Perry - May 24 - 12:34 amSo far I only have about 300 miles on this new ford, but I love it. I replaced a 2007 Chevy Avalanche which I am very loyal to Chevrolet, but when compared to this truck the Avalanche cant compare. The Ford beats the Chevy across the board. From the comfortable interior design to its awesome exterior appearance that just WOWs anyone who sees it. It drives like a luxury vehicle and when you get inside - WOW - where did the world go. Great Job to the engineers who designed this Lariat - I do not regret the move from Chevy to Ford!

Engine Problem - 2004 Ford F-150
By Eric - May 17 - 5:41 pmI have a 2004 XLT 5.4 Crew Cab something in the engine broke around 77,800mi when I was doing about 45mph. Tow it to the dealership to have them look at it. They believe the crank broke because it does not turn. The dealership contacted Ford to see about help with the problem and Ford said out of warranty its their problem. New engine thru Ford around $5,000 then labor it would cost $7,400. I also talked to the reginal rep. for Ford that takes care of Gorno Ford and she said youre out of warranty. I told her that I know I am out of warranty but I should get more then 78,000mi after spending over $32,000 dollars. I ask to talk to her boss and said she has no boss to answer to. FORD TOUGH

Good but way overpriced - 2007 Ford F-150
By Working Stiff - May 15 - 10:23 amOverall I think this is a good vehicle, good dealer service etc, but way over priced for what you get for 50k. The heated seats took 10 minutes to warm up and only when you sat in them, note:Chev and BMW roasted my seat in under 5 mins. The heat controls didnt switch properly. The air intake cover never stayed down. The brake rotors were grooved by 20k- w/o towing anything. The sunroof/air hummed major when opened all the way. Mileage is bad.. best ever was 18- when babied.. the trip comp was very optimistic. Really, other than the high cost of fuel, it looks great (20" rims)and was enjoyable to drive and handles our winter climate/pothole infested roads well. Nicely styled and classy too.

Tough as Nails - 1995 Ford F-150
By Texas Native - May 11 - 4:20 pmI bought my truck at an equipment auction. It had the 4.9L 6 cyl & 5 speed. When I bought the truck it had 105k miles on it. When I sold it 11 years later it had over 250k miles on it and still running strong. I averaged around 18MPG most of the time. If I drove only highway I could get up to 21mpg for a full size truck that is very impressive. I used it for work, and for fun. I hauled many heavy loads and full trailers with ease. I wish Ford would have continued th3 4.9L with the newer trucks. In my 11 years of owning it. I replaced a clutch, brake pads and a radiator. I bought it for $7k and sold it 11 years later for $3k. I wish I would have kept it -)

Love This FX4! - 2010 Ford F-150
By BR549 - May 10 - 6:24 pmOnly have about 250 miles on this so far, but love it. I got this to replace my 2005 Taco. The interior layout is almost exactly like my old truck, but with more horsepower, more room, more bells/whistles and more creature comforts. I want to get the engine broken in before I report any actual mileage.

Excellent Truck - 2010 Ford F-150
By David - May 9 - 4:18 pmTraded my 2010 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner for this truck. Hard to believe for about the same money Ford delivers so much more and the gas mileage is about the same. Driving it home from the dealer I was getting 24 miles to the gallon in highway driving at 55mph. Around town I am getting around 16. The Tacoma got 17 in town and about 20 on the highway so I am very happy. It is extremely comfortable and with the Red Candy Tint Metallic color, it looks great too.

Traded Tundra for F150 - 2010 Ford F-150
By Traded Tundra for F1 - May 6 - 6:40 pmI traded my 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited for the 2010 Ford F150 Platinum. I always thought the Tundra was a nice truck until I got into the Platinum. The ride is better, the interior finishes are far superior to the Toyota, the styling is better, and overall it is a much nicer vehicle. Sure the Tundra has better horsepower but how many people really need those additional horses. The Ford has adequate power and so far looks to get slightly better gas mileage (but when you buy these vehicles that isnt necessarily your first concern). I have had several folks comment on how nice of a truck this is (that never happened with the Tundra!)
