Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Havent had this truck a month yet and am trying to get out of it. The interior is beautiful but it is so uncomfortable. Ford just threw everything in with no thought to actual placement, height etc. It shifts so erratically that its annoying and dont try to use the passing gear in a hurry because there could literally be a 3-5 sec delay before the truck figures out what to do.

  • Great Truck! - 2004 Ford F-150

Dont say anything about the fuel economy. You dont buy a 6000 pound truck and expect 30 mpg! This is a solid truck and even after 6 years, I still love it. I dont drive it that much, but it has been very reliable. The only real problem was the rear end, which had to be replaced by the dealer after about 4000 miles. When they put it back together, they forgot to lube the yoke which caused the drive shaft to go bad. All these were done under warranty at the dealer. Other than that, no problems at all (knock on wood). Its easy to understand why this truck sells so well.

  • A Toyota Tacoma Convert - No Question! - 2010 Ford F-150

Okay, folks - 15 months ago, I wrote a great review about my 09 Tacoma Double Cab. Im now "retracting" it. I should have gone with my first instinct and purchased the F-150. Night and Day. The F-150s seats are 100% more comfortable and the ride quality is that of a car. I issued a "9" on fuel mileage, as I dont have the numbers yet, but hey-this is a truck after all. And Im of the belief if you dont stomp on the accelerator, youll be fine! Have the XLT chrome pkg, drivers pkg, towing and SYNC which Ill never again do without. Also got the tailgate step great for my 59" stature, and my grandkids to pile in. Ford should pay me for this but Im happy to help yall decide

  • My Tonka Truck - 2001 Ford F-150

I love this truck. Ordered it new with everything I wanted. After 10 years I still get compliments when I gas up or park somewhere. Only repair was an intake manifold gasket twice. Should have been once but the dealer did not replace the bolts at the time and since then it is a recommended part of this repair. I did do the brakes once but this is required on all vehicles. I will keep it for a good long time. It is fun to drive in snow as it sits so high. Wife complains "its hard to get up into" and that adds to the appeal. They are really bullet proof.

  • 3rd Ford Truck - 2010 Ford F-150

This is my 3rd Ford F150, and its the best. I love the QUIET ride, its superb reliability, & its solid stance. In all three trucks, I never had a rattle or a squeak, nor a misfire in the engine. Whats the big deal about the power? It has 320 hp, and it will damned well get up & go - faster than the other two I owned. I had owned 2 Z28 Camaros in the 90s, and Im used to power. In 6 mos. Ive never floored the accelerator however, I did push it half-way down to pass a couple of cars on a long, steep hill. It roared & "slung" me up and around those cars without a sweat. I also love the "throaty" exhaust tone the engineers have given it. This truck is quality & class, through & through.

  • Just Bought Used - 2008 Ford F-150
    By -

I recently purchased my F150, and I love it. I got for the purpose of towing a pop up trailer, and I could not even tell it was attached. One area where I might have researched more is gear ratios. I noticed some F150s had more torque. I am fine with the lower torque gears as I am not as prone to squealing my tires. I am not sure about any benefit in gas mileage. It is a truck, what would you expect? I have also added Thule bed racks so I can bring my kayaks along where ever I go.

  • Very nice - 2010 Ford F-150
    By -

Replaced my 2008 MKZ with this, which I bought after having a Yukon XL Denali for 3 years. This actually rides better than the MKZ and is QUIETER. Its really hard for me to use this as a "truck" though - it LOOKS SO GOOD. :-)

  • Ford Trucks Not of this "Realm" - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

I have had my truck 6 years 150,000 miles not a single problem. have towed and hauled and I will say that you do not feel what you are towing or hauling, like other trucks especially when cornering or coming into and out of curves. Power yes everyone wants more power but when using your truck for recreational or light to medium work you cant beat "Ford" its like this truck was made somewhere else like another realm or world, where quality is all they do :-). if you need to haul heavy work loads then get a F-250 or F-350 which these trucks are hard to beat in the "Big Mans World of heavy haulers". oh!! by the way my 4.6 V-8 gets 24 miles per gal with the K/N air filter as the only add on.

  • Nice but Vibrates? - 2010 Ford F-150
    By -

I just purchased a Platinum Ford F-150 and like the quality for the money, but am already annoyed after 150 miles with the constant vibration I feel when I drive it. I googled the problem and found that I am not by any means alone. There seems to be a big problem with either the drive shaft, tires, or alignment. I am hopeful I will get this fixed but what I read on message boards doesnt have me very excited. If this was fixed, I would be very pleased with the overall experience after just a week of driving the truck.

  • Another Great Truck - 2010 Ford F-150
    By -

I have had 4 Explorers and a couple F-150s and this is the best yet. Great leg room, great styling. I got the 3 valve 4.6L and it pulls my 32 Travel Trailer (7700 lbs) no problem. Gas mileage has been averaging 19.4 with my first 10k miles. I agree with others: bed liner should be standard and a driver grab handle would be nice. Overall I would not change much. Not impressed with Southwest Ford in Weatherford,Tx., go somewhere else. I got the XLT, should have looked at Lariat, but overall a great truck with good looks and excellent mileage for a pick up. You cant go wrong.
