Pros:

Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

I LOVE THIS TRUCK! I currently have 17743 miles on this truck, and so far so good. The performance is great; I get 16 miles to the gallon up the turnpike with my quad trailer on the back loaded with 4 quads and 2 dirt bikes, plus our 6000 pound camper trailer is barely felt on it. My friend has a Dodge with the hemi, sure the hemi is quick but that truck is a tin can, mine is a bank vault. No problems except the 6 cd changer has been replaced twice, but the Audiophile system is awesome. I have an 02 Continental as well that was supposed to be my car for cruising in but the truck is more comfortable. Way to go Ford for designing such good driving characteristics into such a beast!

My Texas edition Ford F-150 is a really good overall truck. Power from the 4.6L engine is lacking and the transmission is always shifting whenever there is the slightest grade in the road. Ive had my truck in the shop four times in the last year. First three times was because the air conditioner wasnt blowing cold air. After the third visit, the dealer ship figured out it needed more freon as it wasnt serviced properly at the factory. The fourth visit was because when I applied my brakes, the front end would shimmy. The dealer got it right the first time and machined the rotors. The truck only has 25,000 miles on it, the brakes should not have needed machining that early in their lives.

  • Excellent 1/2 Ton - 2005 Ford F-150

Have only had this truck a week but already impressed. Its everything I thought it would be and then some. Drove an S-10 for a number of years and really appreciate the additional cab space. Considered a new Ranger but surprisingly was able to by a similarly equipped F-150 cheaper.

  • Needs help in three areas. - 2005 Ford F-150

HVAC controls. Limited choices. Slow to heat or cool. Bad fogging problem outside front windshield at engine vent. Visteon compressors are lame. Premium sound system: NOT! Poor controls/performance. Horrible speaker layout and too few of them. Low quality plastics everywhere and very little in the way of convenience areas compared to GMC or Dodge XLT. 4.6L V-8 Heritage engine dates from a decade ago. Low HP, torque & MPGs. Not particularly smooth, especially when A/C is running. Still, I paid $10K less than a Titan or Tacoma - so I can live with the gripes.

  • Great truck.The seats stink! - 2005 Ford F-150

Great truck, quiet, nice looking and good gas mileage -19 mpg under 70 mph. The problem lies with the seats; we have the Lariat with heated seats, They are bad; after an hour you are not happy siting in them.

  • Great Family Truck! - 2005 Ford F-150

I have the 4 door which is perfect for a family with 2 kids. During the week it is a professional sedan in which I am pleased to transport clients. On the weekends my F-150 becomes my toy for camping, little league, household chores, etc. With a tonneau cover I keep my baseball/softball gear available for the weekday games and practices without compromising the clean and still like new appearance I want for my clients. Absolutely versatile!!

Great truck. I did special order this truck, so I have every thing I wanted. The engine is strong 5.4l 3v 300 hp. Put after market muffler on truck, even runs stronger, can’t wait till it breaks in at about 9,000miles. Great in snow. Paint job could be better; it’s not bad but I’ve seen better.

  • Replaces the family car - 2005 Ford F-150

This truck is great for family vacations, or grocery shopping or going anywhere. I have the one with the top that covers the bed and i love it. It makes the truck look sportier and compares with an Avalanche. This vehicle replaces my minivan, yet i can haul anything I need to besides kids. It is also safer in an accident, in that I feel all passengers are safer.

  • Excellent Truck - 2005 Ford F-150

I bought this truck after my son started driving my Ranger; overall it is a great truck. I compared F150 with the Ram and Silverado and this one came out top. Very comfortable on trips. The engine is very loud and can get annoying.
