Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

  • WALLET - 2007 Ford F-150

Now that I own the 5.4 liter, FLEX FUEL VEHICLE, F-150 4x4, I am realizing a very poor "gasoline" fuel economy of about 10 MPG highway which is much less than the 18 MPG that was posted on the window sticker. E85 is much worse. The non-adjustable seat bottom revealed itself as a rear end problem after the first 200 miles. I am not sure what the engineers at Ford were thinking when an adjustable seat bottom was not added to the lower lines of pickups. I would have been happy with even a manual adjustment. I dont think that these problems are going to disappear as my wallet gets much thinner.

  • Awsome truck, but bonkers naviga - 3.5 Eco Boost - 2015 Ford F-150
    By -

I bought the Platinum with 702a package, moon roof, FX4, tow and 3.5 Eco Boost engine (not offered as an option by the Edmunds interface when writing this review). When shopping for a car, I was quite flexible. I was primarily thinking about a Toyota Highlander, but was open to a larger SUV or truck. I test drove the Highlander, which was good, but I also test drove a Sequoia to see if it blew me away, and worth spending the extra, but I was actually quite disappointed with little space it had inside, for what it was, and very poor visibility. I then test drove the F150, and it really did blow me away! So much so that I bought it that day. It is so comfortable and effortless to drive, with a commanding driving position and lots of power that is smooth and tame in city driving, but transitions easily to beast mode when desired. It has a feature list that is only present in SUVs costing way more than this. I love the massaging seats, the 360 camera, powered running boards, huge moon roof, adaptive cruise control and too many other features to list here. Not everything is great. The navigation is completely insane, taking routes that make no sense whatsoever. An example of the wackiness is when I tested it on my usual route to work. Basically this is 20 miles on a straight freeway, then about a quarter mile trip on side streets to the office, but the navigation wanted me to come off the highway about 10 miles early, into what would definitely be a longer route, and into heavily congested side streets. I really am not looking forward to the first time I need to rely on it. Also, a little niggle is that when you are driving on a straight stretch of road, a warning comes up telling me to keep your hands on the steering wheel, even though my hands have never left go of it. Nevertheless, I love this truck.

  • an awesome truck - 2005 Ford F-150
    By -

Bought this truck on 3/10/05 and I love it so far. Havent taken it on any long trips yet, just daily commuting to work, shop, etc. Love the styling in and out, gas mileage so far is 16.5 mpg, not great but this is one big and heavy truck. Smooth, comfortable, and very quiet on the highway, good sounding radio, fit and finish is great. 300 hp v8 is more power than Ill ever need.

  • My favorite truck - 2004 Ford F-150

I purchased my loaded white 04 F-150 FX4 CrewCab and enjoyed every moment so far. It is the best. Acceleration is great for a vehicle that weighs this much (5.4L 300hp highly recommended). I am a small guy, but with adjustable pedals, I sit comfortably from the wheel and get a good view. We own a 98 F-150 XLT with the same engine and with routine maintainance we never had a problem and she has 72k on her. I definately love the 04 F-150 and I wouldnt buy any other full-sized truck unless I get a better deal on a Ram 2500. I recommend the F-150. I give my truck a perfect "10/10".

  • best truck ever - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

my family have been leasing trucks from ford for about 10 years. We finally decided to buy a truck for 6 years. I think we made the right choice though. its comfortable. The first thing we did was have a road trip, and it was extremely comfortable! It rides like a cadillac. well I hope many more people buy this truck. Oh! there was one problem, since we got a flare side, we still dont have a bed liner that fits!

I HAVE OWNED MANY FORD VEHICLES IN MY LIFETIME. ALL HAVE BEEN VURTUALLY TROUBLE FREE. I HAD A 2000 F-150 PREVIOUSLY. I COULDNT IMAGINE ANY TRUCK BEING ANY BETTER THAN IT. BUT THE 2004 IS THE BEST SO FAR.

Recently traded a Ranger on the new F150. I cant stop wanting to drive this vehicle. It is very quiet and powerful with the 5.4L Triton and we all know that Ford makes the best trucks and i certainly back them 100%. My F150 was a dealer demonstrator.
