New packages this year include a Work Truck Group with argent bumpers and a vinyl bench seat, and a King Ranch Group with exclusive interior and exterior trim. A 4.2-liter V6 has been added as the base engine, along with a five-speed manual transmission.

great truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By jasen - March 24 - 3:16 pmThis is my first truck to own out of college and I love it. My family has owned F-150s for all my life and this is the best yet. Best looking truck inside and out. My dad bought a new Nissan Titan; great truck also, but the interior quality of my Ford is way better. Other than engine performance, Ford rules the truck world. (5.4L is a very reliable engine)

By John - March 10 - 2:33 amI bought this 2004 model F-150 as a replacement to my 2001 F-150 and am very pleased with the 04 model year. I really liked my 01 but it got hit in a wreck and had to be replaced. Would I recommend the 2005 models, darn sure would.

2004 F150 FX4 - 2005 Ford F-150
By iceman - March 9 - 10:43 amStepped up from my 98 Dodge Dakota 5.2l 4x4. This F150 is smooth and quiet. Tows great, lots of low rpm grunt. Where the Dodge was screaming rpms to get up hill the F150 pulls at 2000 rpm like a dozer. It also gets great gas mileage compared to the 5.2 liter Dakota. To date with 10k miles truck has been trouble free.

Great Truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By jamesa30 - December 28 - 11:46 pmThis is a great truck. It is very quiet inside at freeway speeds and the ride is very smooth for a truck. There is a perceived lack of power, but its a truck that weighs something like 6,000 pounds, not a sports car. Same thing with gas mileage, a heavy truck, but it gets better mileage than the 2003 Land Rover Discovery that I had, so Im not complaining.

By My First Car - December 16 - 6:33 amI am 16 and this is my first car/truck. Because I am 16 I had a lot of shopping to do and there is no doubt that I made the right decision. For a truck its size it has GREAT fuel economy. I get 17mpg in the city and almost 26 on the highway -- its amazing. I used to hate ford cars but there is no doubt that they have the BEST trucks.
