This Year's Model Updates:

New packages this year include a Work Truck Group with argent bumpers and a vinyl bench seat, and a King Ranch Group with exclusive interior and exterior trim. A 4.2-liter V6 has been added as the base engine, along with a five-speed manual transmission.

Pros:
  • Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, the most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
Cons:
  • Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

  • Glad its only a lease - 2005 Ford F-150

One more year to go on the lease then Im done with Ford. Never get the 4.6L V8, way underpowered. Never buy one with the General Tires, noisiest tire on the planet. Hope you can overcome the electronic throttle lag when you push the gas. Hope you dont buy one like I did that the transmission fried at 12,000k because some seal blew connecting the transmission to the transfer case. Ford doesnt put "new" transmissions in anymore, just rebuilts. And this rebuilt one has been serviced 2 times already and it still doesnt run right. Expect 12mpg in the winter and 15mpg in the summer. Only owned 2 Fords in my lifetime and both have been a disappointment. This is it! Pity too because I get the Ford Discount.

  • Great Truck - 2005 Ford F-150

I love the look of the interior and exterior of this truck. It has a lot of room and convenience features. This is make my second F-150 which I still own, and they are really good dependable trucks. It really rides very smooth to be a 4X4. I would definitely purchase another.

  • My Experience - 2005 Ford F-150

I am very happy with not only the comfort, but also with the noise level in the cab. It is quiet. I have the large engine which gives me plenty of power and not too bad of gas mileage. Only thing I wish now I had gotten the leather seats.

Simply stated this is the best truck on the market, bar none. The new interior design is truly outstanding. The 2004 F150 Lariat is a great truck to drive.

  • Better Than My 2001 - 2005 Ford F-150

We decided to replace our old truck with the newer version. Wow, this thing is really neat. As a pilot, I know what a vehicle should do, and this one does what it says, including towing our Rinker Cabin Cruiser which weighs almost 10,000 lbs. It is very comfortable and rides better than most cars Ive been in. What can I say, it is awesome!

Have 16,000 miles currently with brake problems. At approximately 8,000 miles in for service and required rotors to be turned on front. Now having same problems with bouncing when braking. Will have evaluated soon at Ford dealer. This truck is too new to have rotor/brake problems. Also had rear bumper repair due to rear end collision. Bumper flange on frame was cracked and dealer suggested replacing frame at $5900.00 for relatively minor damage. Reason being the metal the frame is made of cannot be welded on. May be a great frame, not sure about metal composition. Seems that the cost to insure will be passed on to the driver as more of these frames have to be replaced.

  • Love that Ford Truck - 2005 Ford F-150

Really a nice truck. I love the Castano leather interior and the King Ranch appointments. Very quiet and smooth ride. Has good power. Really, this truck is quieter riding than many luxury cars!

  • Just crazy about FORDS! - 2005 Ford F-150

I have owned 6 F150s and this 2004 FX version is by far the best of all. Very quiet on the road; plenty of power for passing and superb ride comfort. This is basically a tow vehicle for hauling my 4000 lb. boat with the greatest of ease. The truck has a 3:55 rear axle for decent fuel economy and a 8300 lb. tow capacity. Only 4,000 miles on the truck so far and not one problem. I highly recommend this truck to anyone seeking a fantastic piece of American engineering.
