Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

  • Best truck Ive ever own - 2003 Ford F-150

I use to own a Toyota Tacoma and the ride was hard and very uncomfortable for long trip driving. I was not a Ford truck believer until I test drove the F150 Lariat with a 5.4L engine capable of 260 horse power and I was amaze how well this truck is built and the ride is great. I drove this baby from San Jose California to Los Angeles and back and I must tell you that was the most comfortable ride Ive ever had (roughly 400miles.

  • I love it - 2005 Ford F-150

It is the smoothest truck I have ever driven. The power, the handling, the turning radius are all real sharp. Extremely quiet also.

  • Ford needs to do better - 2000 Ford F-150

Transmission went out and replaced at 64000 miles. Fuel economy is average at best.

  • Loving My Ford Truck - 2005 Ford F-150

I traded in a 97 F150 regular cab to purchase the new one. It had been a great vehicle so the decision to replace it with another Ford was fairly easy. We did however, look at and test drive other vehicles. The Titan was no comparison. The Dodge was nice but overall the ride quality and interior comfort far out weighed the Dodge. There is much more room in the backseat for one thing. The ride is smoother, the new suspension system is great. I love my new Ford truck!

  • HD F-150 - 2000 Ford F-150

It has been a great vehicle. the only exception would be the bed cover has been off for repair more than it has been on the truck.

  • 2004 Lariat: Young owners perspective - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

I purchased a 2004 Ford F-150 4WD Lariat SuperCrew last November just in time for the Idaho winter with money received for my high school graduation. The truck is stable and able, rugged enough for offroad punishment and serious towing but offers good acceleration for city driving. The truck is very responsive in the wheel, but the gas pedal is rather sluggish which is forgiving in many ways but reduces the enjoyment of the drive. On highway drives the truck is pleasantly quiet and extremely smooth, absorbing most highway defects without the typical jostle of a pickup. However at speeds above 60mph the acceleration begins to lag and good timing is necessary when passing.

  • Glad its only a lease - 2005 Ford F-150

One more year to go on the lease then Im done with Ford. Never get the 4.6L V8, way underpowered. Never buy one with the General Tires, noisiest tire on the planet. Hope you can overcome the electronic throttle lag when you push the gas. Hope you dont buy one like I did that the transmission fried at 12,000k because some seal blew connecting the transmission to the transfer case. Ford doesnt put "new" transmissions in anymore, just rebuilts. And this rebuilt one has been serviced 2 times already and it still doesnt run right. Expect 12mpg in the winter and 15mpg in the summer. Only owned 2 Fords in my lifetime and both have been a disappointment. This is it! Pity too because I get the Ford Discount.

I love this truck. Although my wife thinks its too big, I love getting in and driving to work every day.

  • A very well-built truck - 1994 Ford F-150
    By -

Although Ive only had my 94 F-150 extended cab pickup a few months Ive found it to be very reliable, well- built and surprisingly comfortable on extended trips. The paint quality is amazing! The finish, even after 111,000 miles, still has a like-new gloss and Im positive it hasnt been repainted. Some problems: shortly after I bought it I discovered the flywheel was warped and had to be replaced. I dont know if this has been a problem on other F150s with the 302V8 or unique to mine. Ive also had some electrical and heater vacuum problems in the interior. But overall, I love the truck!
