Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

to buy or not - 1998 Ford F-150
By popcorn - August 25 - 2:00 amIt seems to be a nice truck, rides very nice and smooth even with large tires and not have road noise from the tires. Power locks and windows and remote control mirrors are already in. Im concerned about the milage averaging about 18600 per year.

In for the Long Haul - 1994 Ford F-150
By Dave in Mo - August 21 - 2:00 amPurchased the truck new and have put 144K on it. Plan to keep until 250K or 300K. Inline 6 300CI engine is Very Tough and reliable. Never been touched. 5 Speed box is very good. Clutch very good. A/C, power steering, power brakes never been touched. Body excellent but doesnt have the fit or finish of a GM truck. Bad Points...Brakes lousy in wet weather since day one. Hydraulic clutch actuator is REALLY bad. Works great but is made out of plastic so has to be replaced periodically.

1996 ford 150 sb - 1996 Ford F-150
By rkw - August 20 - 2:00 amtruck has been completely reliable, looks good, but lack of control over seat back angle makes it uncomfortable for long drives even though it has an adjustable lumbar support

Great Truck New - 1997 Ford F-150
By JerryT - August 16 - 10:00 amThis vehicle I purchased was a great truck till about 85000 miles, then the transmission started acting up. I suggest, if you buy a ford truck to trade it in around 80000 if you plan on keeping it for a while. Whereas transmissions can be repaired, once they start acting up they will never be the same again and reliability will never be above 65% on a rebuilt transmission.

Love my 2001 f-150 supercrew - 2001 Ford F-150
By Dan Vallieu - August 16 - 10:00 amI added several thingssuch as mud flaps, bedliner, bed cover, bug guard, rain guard on all 4 doors, side rail ala explorer type and fog lights. i get a ton of compliments. The mileage is great. I have the 4.9 v8 which is excellant power/mileage set up. I would not change a thing. I shopped around at all the major truck types and am very happy with my choice. I had a Dodge and Chevy prior to this truck but would by a Ford for my next truck without a doubt.

SuperCab SuperQuiet SuperRoomy SuperTuff - 2005 Ford F-150
By brokeanddumb - August 14 - 3:56 pmIts the quietest truck on the market. The bulkhead between you and the engine is "quiet steel". It really works. The engine is a masterpiece. 300hp and 365 lbs ft of torque. More important, 80% of that torque is available at 1000 rpm. Extended cab rear seating has always been a compromise, but I can sit quite comfortably if someone my size is driving. The frame is the strongest in the business. Its the only truck to receive dual 5 star safety ratings. Also the only truck to pass the offset crash test. Ive put on as much as 600 miles in a day. Comfy! Steering is tight. I like that. Same goes for handling. I had an 03 and loved it, but this new truck raises the bar.

Real Truck - 2010 Ford F-150
By cajun duck hunter - August 14 - 2:00 amIt is big and roomy. The 6 speed transmission shifts through the gears imperceptibly. Low revs at highway speed. Ive driven through rain, sleet and snow and mud with a trailer. This truck didnt rev any higher with the trailer than without. It is very sure footed and handles very well, every thing I would expect from an F150. The sync system is quite impressive. This vehicle is very quiet. Great fit and finish inside and out. Ive test driven the Tundra and found it to dance on rough roads. the Chevy has drum brakes in the rear. Who still uses that ancient technology?
