Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Lariat 101 - 1999 Ford F-150
By Daytek - January 3 - 2:00 amI became a Ford owner in 1992 and never looked back. I use my Lariat to pull a fifth wheel during vacation and put over 6000 miles in 4 to 5 weeks. Not a hitch. I also use it to transport my snowmachine and quad, again no problems. The only negative thing I can say about my truck is that the back springs are not as stiff as I would like. Anyway, I like my truck and intend to buy another within the next year or so.

F-150 4.2L a big disappointment - 1997 Ford F-150
By GBG - December 31 - 2:00 amPurchased 1997 F-150 4.2 V-6 new and had very poor mileage. 20% less than sticker statement. Currently get @12 MPG. Dealer replaced mirror switch @ 2,000 miles, transmission w/in 20,000 miles, turn signal switch @40,000, seat belt mechanism 45,000 miles, water pump and leaky seals on timeing chain cover at 60,000 miles, Factory radio failed completely @ 75,000 miles. Drivers side door has metal fatigue crack near window as in MOST 97-01 f- 150 trucks. Would definetly stay away from the 4.2 V-6 drive train in the future. Currently need complete engine replacement at 88,00 miles due to overall engine wear. dealer wants $4,000 to replace.

Almost got it right!!! - 2004 Ford F-150
By oldsman - December 30 - 10:00 amHad to have one based on interior and exterior styling. Its replacing a Chevy Avalanche. Ford is always 50Hp shy of Chevy and the new F150 is no exception. The 5.4L3V Triton does not feel like a 300Hp motor. Throttle response is sluggish. Bottom end and midrange feel good but the engine has no top end and theres a 5k rev limiter. Whoopie, 80% of the torque is at 1000RPM. If I want a heavy tow vehicle, Ill buy an F350.

I got my Ford - 1997 Ford F-150
By Ben_H - December 30 - 2:00 am97 F150 Lariat...what a great truck. I needed to sell my 95 F150 and I knew what I wanted and I found it in this truck. Theres no way you would think this truck is 6 years old- it looks good and drives great. My mechanic gave it a clean bill of health when I bought it and it has yet to give me any major problems. Some brake work (replace rear axle seals) and routine maintenance, general TLC, is all I have done for it. Fuel mileage...well, youre driving a truck, not a Honda (a car I could roll over and not even know :-)

Ugly but works really well! - 1998 Ford F-150
By Andy E. - December 29 - 2:00 amI hate the body style, but they dumped the beautiful truck style I liked in 1996. This has been an excellent vehicle. One time in the shop in 88,000 miles (because I forgot to tighten the gas cap and the check engine light came on). It goes up hills without downshifting and has really reasonable accelleration for a six cylinder.

Mom Mobile - 1998 Ford F-150
By Caitsma - December 29 - 2:00 amI bought my truck new 5 years ago. Im a woman and a mother and Ive been driving pick-ups for over 20 years. This has been my favorite! Very reliable, quiet, tight and trustworthy! No mechanical or cosmetic problems thus far. I love my big V-8, its got loads of get-up and go! And thanks to the air-bag option, I can cart 3 kids around, no problem...and still haul cargo! And the best part: People still tell me "Hey, nice truck!".
