Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

  • Its an OK truck, not more. - 1999 Ford F-150

Ive had the truck for 3 years now and have put over 75,000 miles on it. Ive had two mechanical problems. The first was a leaking transmission (which, by coincidence, occurred just after I had the transmission serviced at 60,000 miles), and the second was a faulty idle seloniod. I had the dealer repair the transmission leak ($300) and a local mechanic repair the idle selonoid ($130). The pickup is due for another set of tire soon. Overall Ive been pleased with the vehicle.

  • GREAT TRUCK - 2017 Ford F-150

2017 Ford F-150 4X4 Supercrew Short-bed 3.5 V6 Ecoboost with a 10 Speed Automatic Transmission. This vehicle is equipped with the 302A package. This engine is very powerful yet it delivers very good fuel economy. It is NOT a typical V6, this vehicle is equipped with dual turbo-charges. I average 19 MPG around town and average 22 MPG on the highway. It will deliver as much as 24 MPG on the highway. This vehicle rides very sooth an is very comfortable to drive. I prefer to disengage the Auto Start/Stop feature which is standard equipment in this truck. Even though this truck is very big it’s easier to drive then a passenger car and has a superb steering radius. The exterior and interior fit finish is very good. I do have the Navigation with the large LED screen. The radio and the features related to the radio are great. The voice activated controls and the hands-free phone system is the best I’ve personally experienced.

love it. The truck is just what I needed and has proved trouble free since I have owned it. I would strongly suggest one if you are in the market.

  • Bad Engine Hesitation/Shutdown - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

Bought this truck in late July04 and had to replace rear end the next week. Three months later I noticed a BAD engine hesitation/shutdown as I climb steep grade hills (Rocky Mountains). Taken in 5 or 6 times but the problem is still there. Dealership is dumbfounded by it and has no clue what to do. There is a rattling in my front door panels on cold mornings that last until it gets above 60 degrees. VERY ANNOYING. Other that that I love my truck. Its got the power you need and the speed to take on anything. Not sure what others are saying about no power off the line.

  • A/C Problems from day 1 - 2006 Ford F-150

The AC does not seem to work properly. Checked it out 5 days after delivery and found nothing. I now think that it is the controller for the auto-temp air. The dampers may not work correctly.

  • How can you love it when it’s in the shop - 2014 Ford F-150
    By -

Fords abiility to diagnose issues is suspect at best. During the summer of 2016, Ford replaced the points on clynder # 7. Then replaced the short block then sent out and had the heads rebuilt. In the spring of 2017 a shutter in the transmission developed. Ford reset the learning process but the shutter never went away. In the fall ford indicated that they thought the torque converter was bad,but they could not get one. As such they replaced the entire transmission. Now after three resets of the learning process the transmission continues to clunk going in and out of first gear. Ford at this point doesn’t know what to do? My truck has been in the shop for over 40 days to date with no resolution in site. Thank god I bought the extended warranty!

  • excellent all around - 2004 Ford F-150

Very impressive new design for this truck, had two prior full size Chevy Silverados, then most recently a Toyota Tundra, but the F-150 grabbed my attention. Nothing compared to the comfort when I drove this for the first time. The SuperCrew interior was far more quiet than any truck Ive ever been in. The truck is very responsive in power, the handling is very reassuring over rough terrain and corners. I had to keep reminding myself that I was not in a luxury sedan. Gas mileage is good, even with the 300 hp under the hood. Definitely recommend the 18-inch wheels and tire combination, looks and handles awesome.

  • BEST TRUCK OUT - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

I cant believe this truck!! Its awesome. The power from the engine is phenominal, tows 9500lb max and its super quiet while it does it. Thank goodness it has a rev counter or you wouldnt know it was running. THe new interior design is stunning, capt chairs with center shift gives me a feeling of being in a fancy SUV. Half the time I forget I am in a pickup truck. I test drove the hemmi first but it rode like a truck and sounded like a semi with a broken manifold. I decided against the Hemmi as soon as I got in the Ford. Basically a no brainer. I am a redneck with style now!!

  • Awesome Truck - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

Absolutely the biggest overall advance in the history of the F-150. Styling is fabulous, interior (leather captains chairs with console shift) is on par with european luxury cars. Fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous! My only criticism is that although 300Hp is claimed, the truck does not feel like it makes 300Hp. Throttle feel is mushy. Should be more crisp and responsive. Hopefully the microtuner folks can solve this.
