Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

  • Worlds Fastest Pick-Up Truck!!!!! - 2003 Ford F-150

All I have to say is that this pick-up truck is the best the world has ever seen. This truck is so versitile that it will run the 1/4 mile and beat all the imports out there, tow a boat / trailer or even help you in a move! Anyone thinking about spending 30 grand on a performance vehicle and still undecided on what to buy give the SVT Lightning a look. And for all of you waiting for the 2005 Lightning----this truck will truly be the king of the road!!! In every aspect of performance you can think of!!!!

  • The King Ranch, not just for Texas - 2003 Ford F-150
    By -

I really bought the truck because I loved the King Ranch interior. It is very comfortable, rides well and is really nice on the open road. I wasnt sure I would like the smaller V-8, but it is more than enough for the weekend driving I do. We have had a severe winter with a lot of smow and the 4 WD came in very handy.

This is the first truck I have even considered buying. I dont think I will ever go back to a car. The King Ranch is very luxuious, comfortable and a delight to drive.

As a 1st time truck owner & a loyal ford customer I am very pleased & excited about my new F150. The exterior styling was nicely redone & interior styling with flow thru console is luxury like. The drive by wire electronic throttle seems a little sluggish & almost delayed at times. The road noise inside the cockpit at highway speeds is very impressive and not ford like. The steering & braking are surprisingly responsive for a 5000+ lb truck.

  • My 2002 Lightning - 2002 Ford F-150

I absolutely love my Lightning. It has the best of both worlds from the utility of a truck to the performance of a muscle car. The style and sound is fantastic. The truck is quicker than about 98% of all vehicles on the road. The supercharged engine is easy to modify if you are thinking about upping the performance factor. There are bolt on modifications, such as changing the supercharger pulley, air filter kit, and computer chip that will push the output from 380HP to upwards of 450HP.

Rear differential has whined since new. Rear differential had to be replaced. Battery junk making vehicle unreliable. Ford said there was a bad plate. Charged the battery and refused to replace under warranty. Stranded 6 times. Finally, dealership replaced battery. Windshield has stress crack running all the way across. I have owned many new Chevys, Dodges and Fords over the years. I am not impressed with the quality. I dont see where the customer service is anymore.

  • Ford tough - 2002 Ford F-150

Traded up 36 years, from a 1966 Chevy pickup to the 2002 Ford F150. Loved the old Chevy but wouldnt have traded for one a year newer. Ford has surpased GM many times over since the 60s as far as Im concerned. Very pleased overall with the F150, style, performance and the feel of a very solid vehicle.

  • Best Truck Made Today - 2004 Ford F-150

Purchased my truck 2/28/04. Made two trips, 5600 miles and 1700 miles in the last 35 days. I bought it for use in my business. I have no complaints what so ever. The ride is comparable to my 94 Town Car. Average 17 mpg over 8000 mi. As it gets more miles on it the milage will get better. Very quiet, seats are comfy. Never noticed any fatigue during all the driving we did. It has plenty of power as Im not planning to drag race it.
