Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Finally bought this truck Nov. 03 used. Love it! Lots of room inside and even with the shortbed. With the leather and all the options its like sitting in a big Lincoln! Reliable so far, runs great. gas mileage is the only problem, but its expected with a vehicle this size.

Overall the truck isnt too bad. Its got decent power and good exterior looks. The interior feels somewhat cheap and excessively plastic. The carbon fiber, aluminum look does little for its styling. The seats leave a lot to be desired for comforts sake. Its got plenty of interior room though. Better than the Ram (for baby seats). The bed is way too small. Would have got an F-250 Powerstroke but got bullied into this by my wife (primary driver while Im away).

Power door locks failed at 37,000 miles, dealer would not do anything about this (I have since discovered that this is a very common problem). Seat belts are uncomfortable and difficult to use! Seats provide good support, but fabric is uncomfortable. Center armrest is very uncomfortable. Ride and noise is not nearly as good as my sons 2000 Dodge Ram!

The Lariat is an outstanding combination of a work truck and a very nice (not luxury) auto. Sharp, handles well. Leather seats are great. Gauges and sound are superb.

I used this truck for towing my motorcycle trailer and for general all- around driving. It has been highly reliable and functional. I bought the smaller V-8 thinking it would get better mileage than the larger engine. It didnt and that was disappointing. A great around truck, but not good for large range commuting because of the mileage (about 13.5 MPG).

Ive owned this truck since it was a year and a half old, it had 30,500 miles on it when i bought it and have had only 2 occasions to ever have it in the shop for mechanical reasons other than routine maint. Im exceptionally pleased with this truck and would only hope that my next is as reliable and as good a truck.

The pickup is good on the highway we usually make road trips every year of about 4000 miles going and coming. Performance is decent but thats because it has 170,000 miles on the odometer. The pickup has only had minor problems, the biggest problem it has faced was the starter and the flywheel going bad but thats about it it Has been a very realiable and bad ass truck too drive.

  • New Ford F 150 4.6L v8 4x4 LB - 2000 Ford F-150

I bought this trck new. 4.6L engine 4x4. I love this truck. 4 years now with very minor problems. Coil pak went out at 45000 miles $200 repair. Cat. converter inside ceramic stuff broke apart and clogged muffler $100 repair at (90000 miles) thats all the problems Ive had. Trck now has 97000 mi. on it. Good loking truck, inside and out. 4.6L motor is a little doggie when pulling a 3000lb boat but the gas savings makes up for it. I get around 20 mpg out on the interstate at 75mph not pulling anything. I highly recommend this truck!
