Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

  • Ford F150 4WD Ext Cab Short Bed - 2002 Ford F-150

I love the ride, performance, and reliability of my Ford F150. The exterior of the truck is sharp. The interior is less than might be expected for an XLT (sticker was over $30K.) The dashboard is completely plastic. Im also disappointed with the poor gas mileage(4.6L V8: 13 - 14 MPG.)

This is the most refined pick up I have ever seen. Its the smoothest riding, quietest cabin, and the quickest truck I have ever owned and If I can convince my wife that she wants one too I will have an FX4 extended cab to go along with my Latiat Super Crew.

I just traded my 02 Firehawk in and bought a black 02 Lightning a few weeks ago. I sure wish I had bought the "L" sooner, this thing is a blast to drive. Here in Texas we have a lot of truck owners, and when they see my shiny L drive by it sure turns heads. There are a lot of performance upgrades available, and it is easy to put the truck in the mid 11 sec 1/4mi times.

This truck is sweet, have had nothing but good luck with ford trucks since I was a kid. This is the best one of all.

  • Found a basic XL 2015 work truck - 2015 Ford F-150
    By -

The base 6 cyl 2.7L turbo is very strong! I LOVE the Ford engines. I also have the new Navigator L 3.5L and it is very fast for such a huge dinosaur. The F-150 is currently getting 23 mpg combo which is outstanding. Considering its the base XL with no carpet and vinyl and just extended cab, I get a lot of compliments on its looks. Sync works well with my Iphone and I hooked up a portable sirrius/xm radio and the speakers are very good in the base version. For a cheap base truck, the fit and finish is outstanding. This a good family truck as my kids can load all the sports gear in the bed and fit adequately in the rear seats for medium to short trips. We will take our Navigator to Florida. Sounds like I am a Ford salesman but I must tell you that I have always purchased Toyota and Subaru but the Ford line is strong and reliable based upon consumer magazines and my friends. This base XL makes more sense than an SUV in most cases. Buy a loaded F150 and you are close to Navigator pricing. Look at the XL and learn to save some money with no one else noticing!

  • Standard Ford Headaches - 1999 Ford F-150
    By -

My truck generates the standard Ford problems annually. The hem seam on all four doors developed rust (which Ford refused to fix as the rust did not perforate the metal), phantom windshield wipers (unfixed), coil pack failure (1) and air conditioner refrigerant leaks requiring annual recharge and also the famous Ford door crack above the intersection of the front and rear door on both sides. The irritation is that these problems are all reported but Ford refused to address the problems until (reportedly and time will tell) the 2004 redesign. How does one say "Cash Cow".

  • nice truck - 2003 Ford F-150

I,ve taken this truck on several vacations out west.,the gas mileage was pretty good. Driving in snow and ice this winter was great with the limited slip rear-end, who needs 4wd.

  • Good Truck - 1998 Ford F-150

I had 1999 Chevrolet Z71. This truck is better all around. Rides better, more power, sits higher, etc. The only area it gives up ground to the Chevrolet is in off-road performance. That is mainly due to the rear locker that was standard equipment on the Chevy.

  • was the truck of my dreams - 1999 Ford F-150

In june 2001 I bought a 99 modle with only 17000 on it . Since then I had to have 2 coils put in under warr. In 03 for some reason the gasket around the rear sliding window sank in but the dealer would not replace it. and the extended would not cover . again in 03 the trucks drivers door started tearing the meatle at the bottom of the window at the rear corner. The dealer said it was common. not covered under extened warr. now the odometer comes and gos the dealer will fix it if I pay another $50. and it is one of the warr. codes in their computer. There is a drive train vibration from rear. the automatic transmittion sucks and truck dosnt handle.

  • has been a real workhorse - 1999 Ford F-150
    By -

I have 155,000 miles on the odometer and it still drives great. I have only replaced the brakes, alternator, and door lock relay. I drive alot- but use it regularly to haul hay. I cannot believe Im not having to look for a new truck yet. I do routine maintenance but this truck has held up better than any truck Ive ever owned including multiple GMC. I very glad ford had a rebate the week I went looking for a new truck
