Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Trusty Steed - 1998 Ford F-150
By goofball76 - April 30 - 2:00 amI love this truck, and it loves me. I have driven 43,000 miles in this truck, (owned 2.5 years)and it has 111,000 at the moment, and all I have had to do was replace the front disc brake pads. This truck is relentless in making sure I am never stranded anywhere. I abuse the heck outta the poor thing, yet it takes it like a real truck should. The only problem I found is the paint is cracked, (sniff!) which seems to be a common problem with these trucks. But I still wax the heck outta it anyway.

Basic Truck - 2003 Ford F-150
By nomad62 - April 29 - 2:00 amI bought this truck mainly to commute to work, with the occasional bed hauling duty in mind. I was surprised to see that the truck would actually get 20 mpg if I watched the right foot. It is the 4.2 liter six so it does not have the oomph of the V8s Ford offers but for my use the 6 is more than adequate. The tranny shifts smoothly and operates seamlessly. I recently drove from Houston, TX to Salem, OR in 3 days and was surprised at the trucks willingness to provide comfort and considerable control over all road surfaces as very little of the trip was taken on the interstate. I am pleased with this truck and would gladly buy it all over again.

Lightning - 2004 Ford F-150
By matador818 - April 25 - 10:00 amGreat truck, definetly makes heads turn and gets the girls. Gas milage decent on highway and not so great on street but what can u ask for when ur running nearly 400hp. Love the sound of the s/c when u gas it. Insurance is nearly same as a reg. f-150. oh ya, always have to put octane 91, $2.50 P/GAL isnt fun.

Blue Oval Power! - 2002 Ford F-150
By Riley42 - April 18 - 2:00 amIve got the 2002 F-150 lariat supercrew with the FX4 off road package. This truck rules! It looks better than the chevy and the dodge, AND has everything you could want or need in a truck. Despite what some say this truck has plenty of power I can spin the 265/70/17s, and it can haul those broke down chevys to the junk yard with no problem. Bottom line this is THE truck to own, problem is everybody does...

1st Truck -- Great investment - 2001 Ford F-150
By newbief150 - April 17 - 2:00 amGreat truck. I added high rise top to bed, spray in bed liner, and stainless steel nerf bars. Great addition to a great truck. Overall can not complain. I did have a problem with the A/C when I purchased it, but the dealer fixed it. No other problems. Would recommend and buy again.

Nice Truck - 2002 Ford F-150
By truckdriver - April 17 - 2:00 amI drive an F150 for work and have been impressed by the solid feel and comfort compared to smaller trucks I have driven. So when I saw the King Ranch version, I knew this was my next vehicle. The leather in this truck is great, very soft and comfortable. The rest of the truck is well built and have had no ptroblems at all. After three weeks there is no reason to take it to the dealer for the normal build defects.

RELIABLE TRUCK - 1995 Ford F-150
By TIMMAN - April 15 - 2:00 amEXCELLENT TRUCK!. I HAVE A 4.9 STRAIGHT SIX WITH A 5 SPEED. THE ONLY FUSS IS REGARDING THE PLASTIC COMPONENTS USED IN THE HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM. THE PLUNGER ROD THAT CONNECTS TO THE MASTER CYLINDER IS MADE OF PLASTIC. IT IS HELD IN PLACE WITH A PLASTIC BUSHING THAT WEARS OUT EVERY 30,000 MILES. THESE TWO CHEAP COMPONENTS CAUSE CLUTCH LOSS MORE OFTEN THAN ANY TRUCK OWNER WOULD EXPECT, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM IS EASY TO FIX. JUST TAKE THE PLUNGER ROD OUT OF THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER AND HAVE YOUR LOCAL MACHINE SHOP MAKE YOU ONE OUT OF STEEL. PROBLEM SOLVED. NOW YOU HAVE A BULLETPROOF 300,000 MILE TRUCK.

Best truck I have ever owned. - 2001 Ford F-150
By Brandon - April 14 - 3:05 amI bought the 2001 XLT, 2WD, 4.2, 5 speed in 2004. Its now 2017 and this truck still runs like a clock at 190k miles. The only thing I have ever done is change the oil, and air filter, plus other regular maintenance. This truck owes me nothing, and has paid for itself. I did put new plugs in it at around 100k , new ball joints and all tie rod ends in at around 150k. I get 15mpg city, and 19mpg highway. It is starting to look old-school, so, I priced new trucks, but they offer the same fuel mileage. I have decided to keep what I have paid-off years ago, it only costs me fuel and nickel-and-dime maintenance. The engine and 5speed manual tranny sound like they are new still. The headlights are starting to fog over after 16 years, so Im going to have to spend $38 on a restore kit. I know that tomorrow I can jump in this truck and drive across the country if I had to, and there would be no issues.
