Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

This is an awesome truck. It was not what I originally was looking for ,but after a test drive- I was under her spell. The power at the tip of your toes is menacing. The handling is as good as a vette and so is the excelleration. Just ask the one that I passed. The SVT division at Ford has put all the other dealers on notice. Put up or shut up!! SVT has put up and in big way. And by the looks of the concept lightning they only have to compete with themselves.

I absolutely love this truck, its features are fanatastic. It is so amazingly fun to drive. The only negative aspect of this vehicle is the fuel consumption. I put on about 200- 290 miles a week on the vehicle, and I get about 12-13 miles a gallon. Now, I really baby it, but if you step on the gas, you can watch the fuel needle move. Other than that, it is perhaps one of my best vehicles I have driven.

  • I love this truck - 1995 Ford F-150

You have heard it from all the other reviews of the 1995 F150 but I have to kick in and repeat what a wonderful strong, reliable and cool vehicle this is. Over the years of our ownership I have never been let down by this truck and it has looked good in the process. I often find myself admiring its clean strong lines, it looks totally able to do anything and actually can. My truck is the straight 6 with the 5-speed and is the basic trim package with NO frills except air. This is what a truck should be at least for me. If you want value, style and ability this is your truck.

I bought this truck in early October, and have driven it appx 5000 miles, and to date, am very pleased with my purchase. I had a 2001 XLT SCab (4.6L), and it was a fine truck; however, this one is a big step-up in ride comfort; the 5.4L - 3V provides more noticable power in spite of the extra weight (SCrew vs. SCab & 2004 added design weight). I owned 2 Z- 28s from 91 to 01, and am used to engine power, and this truck has all the power I want. Im not racing from red light to red light anyway. Since 2500 miles my gas mileage ranges from 16.6 to 17.0 mi/gal. - not bad in my book.

  • 2000 F150 Work Series 7700 - 2000 Ford F-150

Vehicle has been absolutely maintenance free except for scheduled oil changes and items listed below. Brake linings were replaced at 48,500. ABS light came on at 49,000. Well find out what thats about in the next couple of weeks. This is the 7700 model with the 5.4 and it tows as well as a friends new Ram 1500 Hemi. Only options I wish Id ordered are limited slip differential and cruise control. Original Goodyear Wranglers are good for at least 5,000 more miles. Gas mileage has not improved from new, and it still averages approx. 13 mpg in town. Best ever was approx. 16.5 mpg on the highway, but it does have the 3.73 gearing.

  • Dependability pure and simple - 1997 Ford F-150

I have over 150,000 miles on this truck and it has yet to have 1 single part break in the drivetrain or anywhere else for that matter. I dont baby it either and have many performance mods yet this truck doesnt leak a drop of fluid and now gets over 15mpg--A really good number for the 5.4L. I plan to keep it for the forseeable future.

  • Siox speed tranny is useless - 2010 Ford F-150
    By -

This is my sixth F150 in addition I have owned two full size broncos. All had the 351 or 5.4 motor except one bronco had 1 400. I love fords, but this new one with a 6-speed transmission is aggravating. This thing shifts constantly in city driving. I wish i had my 2006 4-speed automatic in it.Driving up a slight hill in traffic the tranny seems like it slips, then it slams. It is far from smooth. You feel each and every shift no matter what speed. The interior is nice, this one has a floor shift, looks nice but you lose storage space...and you do not realize how much you used the floor in front of the console until its gone. I like it, I am praying for a service bulletin on the transmission.

  • Near bullet proof F150 - 2001 Ford F-150
    By -

I have owned my F150 Supercrew for 3 years. Other than one "Service Bulletin" on the transmission, and a timing issue, it has been trouble- free. I would highly recommend this truck on the used market for reasonably priced, utilitarian transportation.
