Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Great Ride with Good Reliability - 1999 Ford F-150
By Jack Barritt - November 12 - 11:37 amI bought the truck with 20,000 miles in 2000 and 4 years later have 117,000. It has the 4.6L V-8 that has adaquate power but gas mileage has been around 14 mpg with local driving. Overall, the truck rides well and has been very dependable. I did have to get the transmission rebuilt at 100,000 miles which set me back $1900 but otherwise the truck has required little maintenance and still runs and rides very well. I plan to keep it several more years.

Fun Truck - 2001 Ford F-150
By p_medic - November 8 - 4:56 pmThe leather sold me. I had never had a 4-door truck before. I will never have a truck that is not a 4-door now. All I did was add dual exhaust an a K&N air filter and drive it. Keep your foot out of it and the MPG will be good, 18-19 MPG. The leather still smells good at 45K.

No more aluminum - 2016 Ford F-150
By Texas Exes - November 7 - 6:00 amWhat should have been just a scrape turned into a major body repair. My son was parking this large truck in tight spaces at his college parking garage. While making a turn he scraped a concrete column. With most cars (certainly trucks) this would have been an ugly scrape - probably would require repairs for cosmetic reasons. However the aluminum body literally tore open around the rear door handle. The side of the truck bed literally buckled. I expect, with the typical steel body truck he could have driven around with an ugly scrape until not taking classes and convenient to repair. Now we have to get it fixed asap to avoid water getting in through the gash in the body, etc. After less than 500 miles the windshield washer pump stopped working. The service people were helpful enough to take it in on a Saturday and replace the pump at no charge or deductible. The auto stop/start also stopped working. I dont think its needed so much, but I need to get it diagnosed to make sure there is not some issue with the electronics. The dash display says "vehicle is charging". With less than 1,000 miles on the truck not so happy with having to schedule repairs and dealer appointments.

FX4 - 2005 Ford F-150
By John916 - November 3 - 10:00 amI just bought my 04 truck in September and so far so good. I know its a Ford, but I took a big chance in buying it. The interior is the best in its class! The engine is a little slow, but it does well. Honestly, the truck handles like a car.
