Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

This truck rocks baby - 2002 Ford F-150
By coolguy - December 7 - 12:36 pmAfter seeing Dodge and Chevy, Ford looks more like a urban (city) riding truck than dodge or chevy. Great Acceleration compared to 3.9L Dodge.

Comfortable gas hog, poor transmission - 2001 Ford F-150
By Lewis Allen - December 5 - 5:02 pmSturdy construction, good paint, terrific ride, nice visiblity, very poor gas mileage - probably due to the overdrive transmission which tends to "lockup" at about 45mph. Itll stutter and sputter until it gets up to 55ish. Lousy sound system. This truck really cruises the interstates though and is comfortable to drive. Air conditioner is pooping out (freon leaking?).

Hey, its a truck! - 1993 Ford F-150
By yoji6365 - December 3 - 9:26 pmNot great for towing serious loads, fuel economy was kind of low, very low. The previous owner had the tranny fixed at least twice so its not that great for loads or construction work. Might need a bigger Ford. But it served its purpose for light hauling and basic work truck.

I love my truck. Yes I do! - 2003 Ford F-150
By Lightningstrike03 - December 1 - 10:00 amGreat Truck! Soooo incredibly fast and powerful. I must have the 500+ hp 2004 coming out. I loved Ford when I had my Taurus SHO and they continue to not fail me with the Lightning. KUDOS!

once you pay! have a good day! bye bye..... - 2016 Ford F-150
By brian - November 30 - 10:38 amfirst time in my 46 years bought a brand new vehicle. I was getting to tired of lying on my back in my driveway on my day off working on one of my old trucks. I wanted reliability. Ive also owned "many" ford trucks in the past. I was a longtime self employed landscaper. anyway I bought this as a personel daily driver vehicle and drove off the lot and truck was great, a few hundred miles or so and the transmission starts banging. I go to the dealer and they tell me its a "self learning transmission" and should adjust to your driving style to enhance shifting and longevity. 5000 miles later and three trips to the dealer and they say "thats how its suppose to operate" and cant do anything...great, now I got a $40,000 truck that shifts worse than my 1979 ford fairmount that i owned....also had problem with two loose pins in two different wire connectors resulting in two additional dealership visits....the truck is 9 months old....im not happy and theres nothing I can do about it but write this review.............great!

98 F 150 - 1998 Ford F-150
By rpr - November 29 - 4:44 pmFactory Quality Rebuilt engine required after one year. Left windshield wiper refuses to clean window properly. Premature tie-rod repair. Lifter noise unless premium gas used.

F-150 Built Tough by Ford - 1997 Ford F-150
By Fraedna - November 27 - 11:50 amI own with 0 miles, On the first month of use, I learned it had defective front shocks the dealer changed them for new ones. It currently has 52,000 miles on it. Ive changed the front pads twice for regular wear, change engine oil every 3,000 miles and have already changed tranny oil at 48,000 miles. At 25,000 miles I noticed a problem in the driver side window, so I changed the window motor for one that I bought on ebay. Not a single engine problem. Mileage of 13mpg in city is not so good, but its a 5,400 pound vehicle with a 5.4 liter engine.

Satisfied First Time Ford Owner - 1996 Ford F-150
By birddog - November 25 - 5:20 pmI bought this vehicle new from dealership. Moved around the country several times with the military, pulling a fully loaded U-Haul trailer each time (maxed out the GVWR for this vehicle). I was surprised by the towing performance since the engine is only 220 HP (5.8L). I never had a complaint with acceleration or stopping performance, even at max GVWR. When not towing, it has OK pickup (its a truck), and corners about as well as a truck can. Ride is smooth compared to other 4WD trucks, but off-road (I live in the mountains so do a LOT of off-road), the truck is superb. Not a hint of mushiness in the suspension. Not sure how that is (usually you get one or the other, not both).

comfortable ride, good fuel consumption - 2001 Ford F-150
By p.r.grass - November 25 - 2:34 pmThis vehicle has been mostly to my liking. The small v-8 has plenty of power for day to day driving. Towing up to the Ford-recommended limit is adequate but the engine complains. Knew this going in, that 95% of my driving would be non-towing. Overall mileage an honest 16 to17 mpg. Trade-off made sense to me. Computer engine control system is balky and produces knocking regardless of load or fuel grade. Not a serious problemm, just an annoyance that must be accepted as part of the engineered-in compromised characteristic of the smaller engine. The 17 inch wheels produce a very comfortable ride. Excellent road travelling car: have put most of the mileage on travelling all accross the country.

Best vehicle ever owned - 2001 Ford F-150
By ricdoz51 - November 24 - 8:22 pmExcept for a bad experience with the dealer this truck is excellent so far. Purchased it from the lot the truck had 600 miles already on it but so far no problems.
