Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Ive owned two F150s and six Fords total this truck has been so far the best vehicle Ive owned. Ford has a winner with the King Ranch and they know it.

It has been a very good truck. I like driving it better than my wifes Infiniti FX-35. She likes riding in it better too. Anytime I ask her which one we are going to take she always says the truck, its more comfortable. I wished it got a little better mileage; Im getting 17 to 20. My 2001 SuperCrew got a little better mileage, ran a lot better and had zero problems with it also.

I really love my F-150. I have always wanted an F-150, and when I bought mine I havent been let down. Around town or on the highway, it definitely does not disappoint.

  • bad ride - 2003 Ford F-150

This truck looks good but on the concrete freeways it has a real bad washboard ride the whole way. I asked the dealer if there was anything I could do to improve the ride and they said not to their knowledge. So now I will buy a GMC.

  • I Love It - 1997 Ford F-150

I love this truck. Ive had it for 8 years with nothing but normal maintenence. When it comes time to sell, I plan on getting the same truck with the same features. It handles great in all types of weather, and here in NJ we get all types of weather. Its been reliable, and weve used it for 7 trips down to Tuscaloosa, AL. (998 miles) with no problems. I have severe back problems, but because of the lumbar support captain chairs, I have not had to stop to get out of the vehicle to stretch. In fact, the only time we stop is for gas (about every 5 hours). Im 6 4", and cannot fit into a lot of vehicles. Theres plenty of room to fit 4 people in the back, even with my seat back.

  • Stone Cold Solid Truck - 1998 Ford F-150

This a very solid, reliable vehicle. Always starts and runs strong, will never leave you stranded. Excellent 4WD capabilities. Very comfortable and a pleasure to drive for a truck. Supercab has more room than most cars.

  • Surprised at how well it drives - 2004 Ford F-150

I actually have the XLT but that wasnt a choice. I traded in a 99 Ford Expedition with the 4.6 engine for this F150 Crew Cab with the 5.4 engine. This truck is far superior in many ways - handles so much better - doesnt lean when turning - rides smoothly - much quieter. I tow a 4700 lb. travel trailer. The new truck basically pulls it in the next higher gear compared to the Expedition so gas mileage has improved. Dont get "pushed" as much by tractor trailers when they go by the trailer. Also dont get as much bouncing over bumps in the road. I like to drive and ride this truck more than many cars Ive driven and its got all the room I need.

  • Very GOOD Truck ! - 1994 Ford F-150

My folks bought this used truck back in 96. I got to drive it from Arizona to Seattle, WA. I revisited them in August 2004, and the truck only had 49K miles on it. So, I took it down to have a front end alignment and 2 new front tires on it. Perfect Ride! Paint, exterior and interior is in excellent like condition. So, I bought it. Some I-beam suspension/alignment design problems due to sag (cam adjustments/ball joints) but still in specs. NICE!

  • fairly good truck - 2000 Ford F-150

Overall no "major" quality or reliability problems, but enough to be annoying. Require several premature repairs after basic warranty passenger door lock intermittent, rear sliding glass windows leaked from day one, cup holder spring broke, check engine light on and $300 sensor repair at 37 months (just out of warranty), cheap tires, brakes needed at replaced at 25K mikes, Cruise control sometimes acts erratic and disconnects on its own. Engine is powerful. Body finish is still excellent. Only big negative was that Ford service could never duplicate rear window leak (floor always wet after every rain). I finally repaired the leak myself.
