Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Best for Domestics - 2002 Ford F-150
By Truckfan - February 17 - 4:50 amMy company take-home vehicle is a 2001 Ford Supercrew 4x4 Lariat, fully loaded including moon roof and offroad package. The ride, power, versatility and refinement makes my fully loaded 2001 Dodge Quadcab 4x4 SLTplus seem crude and cheaply built. GM has better engines (IMO) but build quality and materials are not up to Ford either and have
styling (my 2000 Tahoe a testament to that). -
Fords best engine ever - 1995 Ford F-150
By PaulR - February 16 - 3:35 pmThe long-stroke 4.9 liter six is the best engine (most durable and trouble free) Ford ever built. But, I must qualify that. It is durable and dependable, and it has tons of low-end torque. But, it hits its peak torque at only 2,000 RPM, so it has nothing left at the top end. It strains to go faster than 60-65 MPH. The truck is a typical Ford. Even though it only has 61,000 miles, lots of little things are popping up. Door handle hardware, door fit, vinyl upholstery wear, window knobs, EGR valve, interior trim panels, automatic locking hubs, all have broken. I think a truck should be more durable than that, but it probably is no worse than a Chevy or Dodge in that respect.

Ford F-150 Supercrew XLT 2WD 4.6L 3.55LS - 2002 Ford F-150
By grepa - February 15 - 2:00 amWell built, well designed. Fit and finish superb. Quiet and comfortable, even at highway speeds and long distances that I drive each day. Even the small V-8 has plenty of power; coupled with the 3.55LS it will tow up to 6600 lbs w/ an automatic. Mileage ranges from 16.5 to 19 mixed, mostly highway. Review done at 12,000 miles after 4 mos. of ownership.

Love It - 2004 Ford F-150
By SLO Bigdog - February 12 - 2:00 amI love my new F-150 Supercrew FX4. The only thing I dont like is the 5.5 bed, however I will get a lot more use out of the full size 4 door rear cab than I will over the bed. The optional bed extender makes a big difference. The ride is smooth and I love the feel of my leather captians chairs and the look of the flow thru shifter. I choose the power moonroof instead of the over head center rail console. The flow thru center console has plenty of space. All I need now is a humidor...

Quality of Ford - 2004 Ford F-150
By Tdrip - February 12 - 2:00 amThe ride and handling of the truck is awesome, the interior is the best design of any make of truck on the market. The all wheel disc makes a differents in the braking of the truck.Changes to the lariat are great, If this truck has the quality built in that the 97 150 I had before I will remain a loyal Ford owner. Remember the TQM.

7700 package 5.4liter 4x4 - 2003 Ford F-150
By 037700XL - February 10 - 8:58 pmSeats uncomfortable on long hauls. Front of bucket seat too high for me. Click on acceleration, maybe u-joints. 4WD floor shift works, but sometimes have to drive a fair distance to engage once it wouldnt till put into 4low, then clunked into 4x4. CD/radio went completely dead for 2 hour highway drive then came back on and hasnt done it since. Surprisingly smooth ride considering heavy duty package.

Ford F150 - 2005 Ford F-150
By Douglas Chandler - February 9 - 10:36 amThis truck runs exceptional smooth. Feels like one is inside a luxury vehicle. Outside sounds not heard. Great storage areas inside the cab, lots of room & comfortable. Exterior speaks for itself. Overall dependable, smooth running truck.

Good truck, modest tow vehicle - 2002 Ford F-150
By amerigo88 - February 8 - 5:03 pmBought new July 02. Added step-up bars, factory bedliner and Class III tow package. Pulled a large trailer across Desert Southwest during July/August of 2003 with no overheating worries. Very slow to tow, couldnt exceed 55 mph fully loaded. Averaged about 8 mpg at that awful speed with 3 children riding in crewcab. Transferred towing duty to wifes 2003, 3/4 ton Suburban and all are much happier. The Supercrew is still rock-solid reliable, comfortable, and strong. I hope Ford can keep up the good work because the Dodges, Toyotas and Nissans are really coming on strong.
