Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

Loved the truck as soon as I saw it. Didnt think I could drive and maneuver it. Found it to be a great ride and tows our boat with no problem.

Ive had sports cars, sport utes, econoboxes and motorcycles. This truck is by far the most solid, comfortable and road-worthy vehicle in my driving experience. Its a keeper.

Being in the truck 70% of the time it really gives me a true feel to the vehicle, If I were to do this all over again I would never get a 6 cylinder engine, not recommended at all.

  • A reliable truck. - 2001 Ford F-150

I purchased the 100,000 mile, 60 month ESP plan. With 48,000 miles driven the extended warranty was a waste of money. So far, only regular maintenance has been required. I use the truck on a farm and for hauling lumber. The truck has proven to be very sturdy and capable of hauling heavy loads and towing ny 16 trailer with my tractor on it without effort. I would gladly buy another F-150. However, I would like to have power to both rear wheels.

  • Very dissatisfied - 1997 Ford F-150

Broken engine at 71,000 miles from ONP 99-20-7 (TSB99-20-7) due to front cover gasket leaking into crankcase. Ford and dealer will do nothing. This vehicle, alone with many others, was not on the notification list about the problem. That means that these owners were never notified that it may fail. I even had it into dealer while under warranty, when the heater quit working. Guess why? You got it - low coolant! Their lame excuse was a disconnected tube or something. They covered it up. Its been sitting in my yard for 2 yrs. Broken tie rod while driving, crankshaft pulley broke off on highway, very poor gas mileage. My new truck is a Silverado.

  • The 2014 F150 is Outstanding - 2014 Ford F-150

The F-150 delivers as promised. The truck has needed oil changes and tire rotations and nothing else. The only issue is aesthetics. Ford used too much plastic in the cab. The XLT should have incorporated some fabric or other material on the door and dash areas to break up all of that plastic. It gives a $35,000 vehicle a rather cheap look inside. The power from the 3.7 V6 is more than enough for those unless you are towing over 6,000 pounds on a regular basis. It has the acceleration of a V8 and great fuel economy. If you keep the truck at 70 MPH, you will get 21.5 MPG or better on the highway. Ive made a few round trips from Florida to Ohio and my best was 21.9 MPG and there are a lot of hills and mountains on I-77. Overall I get 18.3 MPG on daily around Tampa, Florida driving. The AC is almost always on down here, so in cooler climates, there might be a better number. Im in my late fifties, so I dont drive like a teenager, but I dont drive like a blue hair either. The warranty should be longer to better compete with other brands and the price of theses trucks is approaching insanity. But this is my fourth truck and even though those new Chevys catch my eyes from time to time, you cant go wrong with the F-150. Acquired 3/2014
