Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

This truck has been nothing but great to me and I have beaten it to death. I bought this truck intending to use it as a truck, so I have pushed it hard. My family is a Ford family and I know that they last a long time even when you push them hard. We have a 15 passenger van and I have a family of 14 and we have beaten that van since the day we bought it in 1994. It still runs well to this day with 180,000, with no major mechanical problems. My truck has 171,000 and is still running strong nothing has been rebuilt.

  • An excellent pick up truck - 1999 Ford F-150

I have had NO problems with this vehicle. I moved from LA to then moved back to AL and coming back I towed another vehicle behind me. As you can imagine going through the Rocky Mountains towing a car behind me might seem difficult. But not this truck. It held its own and then some with the flow of traffic. No problems going UP mountains. A/C,P/W,P/L all still work fine. Killer Stereo. As you can tell I crazy in love with my F150 XLT Triton V8 truck!

I had X plan and bought the truck because I saved $2500. The 5.4 triton is bad on gas mileage 12 to 15 mpg. When I put a 21 foot camper on it struggles on hills some. And gets very bad mileage about 10 mpg. Will buy a GMC or a Dodge next time. They pull better. My 1994 GMC 1500 pulled my camper better than this Ford and got better mileage.

  • This truck wont quit! - 2010 Ford F-150

Got a few stories for this truck. (Owned by my mother while in the oil field) she bought it from her boss with 130000miles with super crew xlt and 4x4 with the 4.6l V8 3v now it has 238500miles and still runs great. But when it hit 201000 miles the rocker arms( they help push pistons and are part of the camshaft) broke and so did the camshaft and one spark plug was out and we drove it another 15-20 at 40mph which is great considering the conditions it was in. Torque converter went out as well but it was easy to fix but. Now Im getting older and starting to drive literally hoping and praying I get this truck from her just bc of how it is. But it will get you out of your bad situations and wont break down often or at all if you get a ford you wont regret it unless your a Chevy fanatic. It has great power, 4x4 system, suspension, seats are durable and comfy, has a great look depending on the model/trim sync system is excellent and the factory bed liner is still all together even through everything, and if you work in your truck get a cellphone signal booster it helps for middle of nowhere situations. Hope you enjoy a ford if you get one!

  • The Ford F-150 Rocks! - 2004 Ford F-150

I am a long time pick up truck consumer, I have owned Chevys, Dodges, Fords, and Toyota P/Us, out of all the P/Us that Ive had the F- 150 out does them all. It is a great vehicle for off-roading, going camping, fishing, and hunting. Its a great vehicle all round, I dont know what I would do without it. Id rather have this F-150 P/U then any SUV on the planet except maybe hummer, I wouldnt mine owning a Hummer H1 or H2, yeah they probably out do it offroad, but life isnt all fun & games. I would definitely get another Ford F-150 Extended Cab (2dr) Sytleside 8Ft. bed 4x4, in a heartbeat, if I had the money to afford a second one.

  • So far so good - 2004 Ford F-150

The two rear doorlets on the Regular Cab were the selling feature on this truck. Having the extra space behind the seats on a Regular Cab is great. You get the benefits of almost an extended cab (a place to put tools and groceries) without the length of an extended cab truck. Performance of the 4.6l is fine on the shortbed reg cab. I dont think it would be enough power for the 4x4 extended or super cabs. It is a quiet truck and rides very well on the highway. There are a few rattles on rough roads but nothing worse than most trucks. The assisted liftgate is good. The higher bed walls make it difficult to reach into the bed to get something.

  • FX4 new model designation - 2004 Ford F-150

Save your money and buy the FX4 all the features of a Lariat except 6 disc changer and leather seats and moon roof. Savings is about 3K. This vehicle is a winner. Had a 1998 Lariat, was happy with it,this truck is heads and shoulders above 03s. Extremely quiet and excellent ride. Highly recommned you check out if you are looking at XLT or Lariat, will not be disappointed.

  • New 2004 F150 FX4 - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

By far, the best driving pickup...ever! I usually like the style side, however, since the bed space is essentially the same, I went with the step side. The step side is a much better looking truck. The cabin is compfortable, roomy, and quite. Power is deceiving, since the truck is so quite. The truck achieves its cruising speed surprisingly quickly and youÂ’ll find yourself unconsciously over the speed limit objective in no time. All in all, if youÂ’re a Dodge or Chevy truck fan, once you drive the new ford, youÂ’ll wish you had one.
