Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

I had a 99 Lariat I Loved, but learning of the many improvements, I had to upgrade. I orderd virtualy the same truck, but adding sun roof, heated seats, and audiophile sound. Oh, even the same dk. toredor red w/gold.The 99sold to quickly and Ive had no buyers remorse. as usual, the dealer was great.

I TRADED IN AN 02 F150 2WD XL FOR THIS 04 F150 4WD XL AND I STILL CANT BELIEVE THE IMPROVED COMFORT AND RIDE OF THE THIS TRUCK.4WDS ARE GENERALLY A ROUGHER RIDE THAN THE 2WDS.I ALSO LIKE HOW FORD TWEEKED THE INTERIOR CONVENIENCES SUCH AS CUP HOLDERS AND ETC.,VERY ERGONOMIC.I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS TRUCK,THE ONLY BAD THING I COULD SAY IS I WISH IT ENJOYED THE TASTE OF GASOLINE A LITTLE LESS.

Let me start by telling you of my LOVE for FORDS, I currently own a 1992 Special Edition Red 5.0LX Convertible, and a 1957 Ford Fairlane Clup Victoria Coupe with a brand new crate 428CJ engine, my past Mustangs have included; 1969 Mach 1, 1969 428SCJ Mach 1, and a 1968 390GT Coupe! So I have a DEEP LOVE of big block FE engines! Ok, on with the LIGHTNING REVIEW.....all I can say is I would CRUSH all the other fords if it would get me one more day in the SVT LIGHTNING!!! MAKE NO MISTAKE, this is NOT a TRUCK, this vehicle would make many many other sports, and or muscle cars put their tails between their tail pipes and run for cover!!!

  • Bulky Vehicle 4.2 6 Cylinder - 2000 Ford F-150
    By -

I bought this truck as a replacement for a small Japanese truck. That being the case, it is just too big for shopping malls, and city driving. Really good for hauling mulch, bicycles, etc. I chose this truck because I could stick the kids in the back seat not everyday, but once in awhile. There was no better value on the market. It drives well, manual transmission is slow, bulky shifting (not fun), problem with heating system (header adjustment door locked up, expensive fix), cruise control recall. It is not as well made as a Toyota or Mitsubishi. Mileage - I get 15-17 in mixed driving.

Very reliable and smooth ride but poor fuel mileage makes passing gas stations hard. Very solid truck with lots of interior space. 4X4 system pulls very well. 4.6 motor is a little sluggish.

  • Best Vehicle Ive Owned - 1998 Ford F-150

I bought this truck used it was four years old then, and now Ive had it four years. Ive done nothing but routine inspections and change the oil and filters regularly. It has never been to the shop for anything. Even the battery lasted eight years. Only 75k miles on it, but this truck has been nothing but a joy to own. I will never ever consider buying a Chevy again.

  • Outstanding American Truck!!! - 2002 Ford F-150

This is the first pickup I have purchased. It rides extremely well for a large, four wheel drive vehicle! The interior is extremely durable, comfortable, and very appealing. Its a SuperCab ... but the rear front opening doors allow plenty of access to the roomy rear seats. The power moonroof, 6-CD changer, automatic climate control, opening rear windows, power adjustable pedals, and easy-to- open tailgate all make this truck an extreme joy to own & operate! Definetly recommend the F-150 King Ranch to anyone looking for luxury & utility in the same truck!!!

  • Room Galore - 2005 Ford F-150

I cannot believe how quiet it is inside the truck. Much quieter than the Chevy. I was close to buying a Chevy with the employee discount, until Ford could beat their price. I am sure happy they did. If you want a truck this is the way to go. If you want a truck that is more like a car, get the Chevy. Chevy doesnt allow for as many mixing and matching with the options.

  • Poor Quality - 2004 Ford F-150
    By -

Quality not there. Had all four wheels replaced. Drivers window replaced. Steering wheel not aligned.Still have vibration in steering column. Windshield reflections drive me nuts, or is the winshield wavy? Should of gotten a GMC. Brakes squeal. Should have known better than to buy a first year truck.
