  Since I purchased my 2001 Ford F-150 XLT Extended Cab, I have been totally dissatisfied with the comfort of the cloth captain seats and low position of floor console.

  Had my truck for 5 months now, loving every minute of it. Excellent exterior design ... looks the business. Interior is awesome, especially with the center console. Hard to believe youre driving a truck to be honest; very upscale look to interior and the ride is great. Always get compliments on the look of the truck ... testament to Ford getting the new F-150 design just right.

  I just turned 19, and my mom and dad bought me this truck 4 months ago after I flipped and totaled my 02 4-door Ranger Edge Plus. My mom has a 4.6, and I wasnt expecting my 5.4 to have that much more power. I was wrong. It is listed as having 260 HP, but I believe it has more. I have had some truck experts I know that say it pushes almost 300. The gas mileage is low, but considering the size of the engine, it is rather good. It gets much better mileage than my girlfriends Avalanche. The body style is great, interior is also very stylish (do not get the leather, as it tears easier), no need for 4WD (I didnt need it, and I get through mud holes fine), it is a great, comfortable ride.

  This truck can best be described as Fords rendition of a Corvette with a pickup bed. Eyeball-flattening acceleration, sports car handling, and the ability to carry a half ton of stuff in the back. My only two complaints are the lack of a manual transmission (although it does have the best automatic Ive experienced) and the gas mileage: 14 MPG on the mandatory premium fuel. Ouch! But thats the price you pay for this much fun and utility in one good-looking package.

  I have owned this truck for two years and it does everything a full size truck should do, and does it well. It tows my camper, its great on family trips, and you never have to worry about throwing whatever in the back. The bed extender really helps for those longer items. Its also very comfortable and easy to drive.

  As a faithful GM truck owner for the last 20 years (00 silverado,02 avalanche most recently). Understand how impressed I was after driving the new F-150. I was not even in the market for a new vehicle, but while waiting for a friend to pick up a car from service at the dealership I took one for a ride.I traded in my Chevy Avalanche on the spot and drove the F- 150 FX4 off the lot.Almost 3 months and 12K miles later, I am even more impressed. This is the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever driven!

  This is my 2nd Lightning, my first was a 2000 model. Dont leave it stock for another day! As soon as you put a cold air intake and chip it, maybe change the exhaust, you realize how restricted they come from Ford. You gain at least a 1-2 second increase in the 1/4 mile, and since Ford sells those same mods, it wont even void your warranty. They are quiet, comfortable, handle well,and still tow 5k lbs! You can outrun the $50k Dodge truck for about $2000-$2500 in mods, and still be $20k ahead. And the SRT- 10 cant even be used as a truck! My first one went over 40k with NO mechanical problems - the huge Dodges, like Vipers, have many. When you feel that 550+ lb/ft of torque you know who rules.

  I have had a squeaky control arm. The only problem is the replacement one does not have a grease point. Why pay $500.00 to fix a squeak for it to squeak again in 6 months?
