Overview & Reviews
The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.
The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

best and worst truck i ever owned - 2004 Ford F-150
By marknkim444 - May 8 - 2:03 pm04 f150 5.4 i love the looks of this truck. i love the drive and comfort of this truck, unfortunately i will probably never ever buy a ford again. This truck will cost you a fortune to keep\. first of all everything on this motor will tick or clack at some point. the cam phasers will without a doubt cost you 1800 to fix once or twice. Thank heavens they are 100000 mile spark plugs because they will cost you a min. of 800 to change. Ford will not even think about helping you with all the ticking until your factory or aftermarket warranty runs out. This was my fourth and last ford.

Frustrated that certain things are hard to get to, but! - 2003 Ford F-150
By smoo4asw - May 2 - 8:19 pmThe but is when you fix all the issues that were piling up it sits there and is about to stand up and tap dance for you-and on regular gas if you can choose a standard, non-supercharged V8 (if you must have the most power, you have to spend more money.) Turns out after doing routine maintenance and tightening the suddenly very loose air intake mechanism together its back happy and as long as that is the case, the idiot light should go off once we reset it-could finally tell that we had a vacuum leak but couldnt tell where it was coming from, and the spark plugs had never been replaced. Its running like a top now, in every way. Were stuck with it now.

Issues with my F150 - 2010 Ford F-150
By doll3 - April 27 - 1:32 pmBrought the F150 Sept 2010 brand new and have 45,000 miles and brought the extended warranty thank goodness. Had radio issues and now doesnt work, three times it wont shift in that wont go past 35 miles. Have to stop turn off the truck and restart it to get it to work. Bucks at times. Dealership wont even look at it says cant do anything until the problem exist. Call Ford office and have a claim so next time it happens. Should have to go this far to get it fix and then only if the extended warranty covers it says the dealer. Ford says a know issues dealer denies that statement. Wont buy another Ford again.

F-150 2013 EcoBoost Review at 5000 miles - 2013 Ford F-150
By mrpgh - April 19 - 10:54 pmIm at 5000 miles and at 4400 miles I took the new truck I purchased in October 2013 in to the Ford Dealership for rust issues. The inside (back side) of the chrome bumpers are showing corrosion, the air intake in the front bumper for the ecoboost models has an angled plate that is rusting and the factory painted (black) areas underneath are already showing rust. The dealer contacted Ford after taking photos and Ford responded its normal wear and tear, no action taken on it. The running board is also starting to corrode where the driver mirrors drips down onto it due to the design. in heavy rain the turbo misfires and the service engine light blinks and all power was lost.

Latest update after the first "problem" cropped up - 2003 Ford F-150
By smoo4asw - April 19 - 6:36 pmI love this truck still, despite the fact that the check engine light came on after an oil change. The reason why it came on is because the people at the oil change place were a tiny bit too rough with our air filter, and so as a result it wasnt sealing tightly. Efforts to fix it only made it worse until we returned it to the way it should have been and lo and behold, the check engine light has been off for over double the amount of driving cycles needed to reset the system and if it was still an issue have the check engine light return. Based on how easy it was once we did it right, I cant even complain about it having an issue.

Worst truck I have ever owned - 2004 Ford F-150
By bestbrewmaster - April 15 - 12:21 pmI still own the piece and have 92000 miles one it. By the time I had 55000 miles on it I was on my 3rd Rear Differential. I have never driven it off road. and Im an older gentleman. I have replaced the 4x4 actuators 5 times. The truck sounds like a diesel truck and clicks all the time. Ford Said that was normal of course the said that when it was in warranty and now they say I need new engine. Junk Junk Junk

02 Ford f-150 2wd 2door XL - 2002 Ford F-150
By jacob19 - March 26 - 5:25 pmI have had this truck for 6 years and have no problems with it, great truck, I use it all day for my job and the 4.6 triton v8 is good on gas mileage on the highway but crappy around daily neighborhood driving, and occasionally every now and then its good at going on the trails. One problem Ive had was with a vacume hose that was pinched because it was dry rotted, so it made the truck lose power and die at stop lights, but once I found the problem, everything is all good... great truck, very dependable and reliable

Expensive Tires - 2013 Ford F-150
By mncm_retired - March 24 - 8:35 pmWith less than 14000 miles on the vehicle I noticed both front tires were wearing out on the outside edges only. I told them that I wanted the camber checked. I took it to my dealer and the told me that my tires were under inflated. I pointed out that under inflation would wear out both inside and outside edges not just one. They told me that the tire settings were okay and there wasnt a problem. I cant afford to spend nearly $500 every 15000 miles for two new tires. Please be careful when buying this truck because it can get expensive real quick for things that should not wear out quickly.

good work truck - 2012 Ford F-150
By ltg48864 - March 19 - 3:29 pmbought a 5.0 L V8 (no EcoBoost), basic work truck no extras, drove a chevy for 10 years and it took time to get used to Ford (drives like a truck), have had no problems and used 4x4 many times this winter with no problems, good towing capacity MySync is terrible (i have the base version) i would not buy the extras because it would quickly add cost with little extra enjoyment of the truck
