Model Overview:

The Ford F-150 is the star of the long-running F-Series line, which stretches back to the post-World War II era, and millions of F-150s have been sold in that time. Originally conceived as a rugged, no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has since morphed into a well-appointed, versatile rig with numerous trim levels that serve a wide range of shoppers, including weekend warriors who need room for the family and the occasional trip to the hardware store.

The full-size pickup segment is so competitive these days that it's hard to pick a clear favorite. But new or used, the F-150 is a great choice, with recent models offering cutting-edge features like turbocharged engines and the MyFord Touch electronics interface. Thanks to the Ford F-150's countless configurations and incredible popularity, you're almost guaranteed to find one that meets your needs.

I like the truck a lot. I did have a problem with a vibration in the steering wheel at 55mph and up. They fixed that with new tires. The steering wheel is sensitive to bumps when at highway speed. It does not idle as smooth as I think it should when the engine is cold and some times in traffic. I need to take it in for this. Other than that I like it.

  • Great Truck for a lady - 2005 Ford F-150

I have had my beast for over a year now and I am still in love with her! The drive on the freeway every morning is a breeze and any off roading is just as smooth. It has enough pick up to jump into Houston traffic and it handles quite smooth for its size. It is easy to get in and out of with a skirt and heels the bed isnt too high so I can still reach in and get items I put in the back with ease. The half cab is GREAT for shopping and the extra storage is always a plus. They just need to start making the other cars taller so they can be seen in the rear view!

I wanted a bigger truck to replace my Ranger, but couldnt find what I really wanted - a big truck with good gas mileage. I typically drive a lot of highway miles at high altitude and high speeds on long trips and needed more power, speed and comfort than the Ranger could give and this truck does it all. From carrying 20 8ft railroad ties with the tailgate up to driving 800 miles per day or commuting. I think that with a tonneau cover I could regularly break 20 mpg, I regularly get 19-19.5 on the highway and up to 16 mpg in town. Interior has great space and is well designed. Low wind noise at speed and handles very well. Outright acceleration could be better but torque is sufficient.

Shifts uneven, no guts, electronic problems at 6000 miles. Otherwise the best looking truck on the road.

  • Incredible Ride, Great Truck! - 2005 Ford F-150

Im still having a hard time believing Im driving a truck because the ride is so nice. Ive made most of my friends and family members take it out so they can see for themselves. Soft, easy, quiet driving that eats up the dips and bumps on highways and back roads. Im averaging 17.6 mpg. Excellent sound system. Convenient instrument panels. Locking tailgate is a must if you go near a city. I love the 22 inch deep bed, and the fact that the bed rail on this 4x4 is high, very high - it prevents an average person from easily reaching in to steal something from inside the bed. Overall a fantastic drive. Ford went beyond expectations with this truck.

  • Brakes are insufficient for weight of vehicle - 2014 Ford F-150

The rotors warped when the truck was new and with no wear on the brake pads. Dealer turned the rotors and they warped again. Ford refused to replace the rotors. i took it to a repair shop and they installed better rotors and I have had no problem since. Cost $1400. I had other warranty complaints as well. Very poor warranty. Dealers response was we fixed it like Ford told us to. "Not my problem, talk to Ford." Thats Freeway Ford in Denver. Stay clear. buyer beware. I am adding this in 2018. The work I had performed (upgrading the rotors) solved the problem. Ford nor the dealer did nothing to help.

  • Hard Seats - 2003 Ford F-150

Enjoy everything about this truck except those hard unforgiving seats. My Mercury Mountaineer was like sitting on an easy chair but this pickup is like sitting on a board. Everything else great.

  • 1st impressions - 2002 Ford F-150

Purchased used 2002 SuperCrew with 35000 miles in 04/06. So far it has performed flawlessly. Gas mileage on the 5.4 is in line with published amount. Very comfortable ride.

This review is specifically regarding my 2014 F-150 Supercrew FX4 Ecoboost w/ 6.5 bed: Like previous F-150s Ive owned, this truck has been nothing short of a fantastic vehicle. This is my second Ecoboost F-150 and I have had zero problems and have been nothing but impressed with its torque, engine response and reliability. Granted, Ive only put 62k on it, and I typically trade every three years, so personally cant vouch for long-term reliability; however, as stated, Ive had two trucks w/ eco and absolutely no problems. Not even an ECM update on either truck. I still have original tires on this one at 62k and have replaced front rotors and pads. The truck is max tow and it has pulled and hauled fairly (actually really) heavy loads without complaint. In fact, the truck is a beast when towing! All-in-all, based on my experience, its a fantastic, all purpose vehicle! If the F-150 isnt the best dog hauler, its got to be one of them! No problem fitting my 225lb Mastiff and 100lb Chesapeake in the back seat area.

  • Great Truck! - 1999 Ford F-150

We sold our 2004 Explorer last summer to buy our 1999 Ford F150. We love it - actually more than our Explorer. We bought it so we could pull a camper cross-country when we were moving. My family has always loved Fords but my husband was a Chevy man until this purchase. We pulled a 26 camper loaded with belongings through several mountain chains - when we started through the first set of mountains, my husband said if we make it all the way there with no problems, Ill be a Ford man. Not one problem! In fact, that was last July and we still have had no problems. We put new tires on it when we bought it and have had the tires rotated and oil changed - THATS IT! Highly recommend this model.
